I have this rod in a swimbait version and have wondered the same thing. I was told by someone that you can just put lead sinkers in there and surround it with cotton balls, but I have not tried that. If you find the real weights, let us know.

I think because FLW gives the weekend warrior and club fisherman more of a chance to advance is why they are gaining popularity right now. Plus when their show moves to Versus, more and more viewers will start to take notice. BASS dropping co-anglers did not sit well with a bunch of people

Thought I would let you guys know a report from waveland over the weekend. We got out there in the morning at about 8:30, water temp was still only 47 in the back of the creeks, but we decided to try rattle traps, spinnerbaits ext. with out a bite. a few other guys we knew were out there and didnt even get a nibble. at about noon, I decided to put on a custom homemade craw and drag it in 12 ft. of water when I feel tap tap tap. Set the hook and I catch one that goes 6.3 on the digi. I always looked at waveland as a numbers lake, but there are big ones there too. I will post pics as soon as I get them. Good luck, Deadeye32

for most shallow water cranks, I would go with a size 4 most of the time and size 6 on the larger baits. Look at the original hooks on the bait and just replace accordingly.

A 5th grader at our school did his science fair project titled "why aliens exist". Not "do aliens exist", but "Why". I thought it was hilarious. The front of his poster board had a picture of an actual alien skull he found on the internet. The conclusion of the experiment ended by saying "with all the pictures on the internet and unexplained events around the world. Aliens are proven to be real." lol

anybody planning on going out to geist this weekend. I might go on Sat. morning to run the boat and try a few spots. Also I'm interested to hear how some of you might fish there this time of year.

In super thick stuff, I peg it right up against the bait. In moderate stuff like grass beds I will still peg the weight, but a few inches up the line to give the bait better action. Everything else I keep the weight free.

Clunn strikes me as one of those guys who can argue both points of a topic. One day he might say use the same rods and the next, you need to use technique specific rods. I like his art of angling spot on Bass Pros, but I think he can over think situations at times also.

Charlie Moore to me is the definition of a "Tool". The whole codfater segment is one of those things where I actually feel embarrased watching it. So stupid. On the other hand, I like City Limits, and Ike is a proven fisherman that just gets super excited about the sport. I thought it was hilarious when he was doing those 10-12 snorting fist pumps during the classic. For some reason it ticked my wife off so bad and I just couldnt stop laughing.

I graduated from Franklin College a few years back, a few of my teamates and I used to go over to the legends golf course as the sun was going down and slay some good size bass on buzzbaits. I was planning on getting one of the Okuma swimbait rods that guys on here highly recomend, but I recieved a Carrot Stix Gold swimbait rod for Christmas, and it is an absolute pleasure to fish with. I have not stuck a giant fish with it yet, but so far it fishes the baits you are using perfectly. Good luck.

unfortunatly some of these guys get passed off as being special ed. If they have a "helper" or tudor doing all of the work, who is really going to say anything. As bad as it sounds, these coaches livelyhood depend on success on the field or court, and not in the classroom. If you are good enough to play, they will make it work most of the time.

I have used several different types including Oakley, Solar Bat, ext. but I recently bought a pair of Arnette polarized glasses and they are the most comfortable pair I have worn. I got mine at sunglass hut on clearance for $60.

this whole era of baseball has been ruined, not by a few, but it looks like most of our stars that we and our kids look up to. I honestly dont think that taking away the hall of fame rights is the right thing to do because we just dont know who all took an advantage. The latest report said that over 120 guys tested positive in 2003. We dont know who all these guys are and if it actually gave everybody an advantage. Dont get me wrong, steroids are terrible for players and the game, but remember in the 80's when Cocaine was the drug of choice for a ton of players, and they are in the hall. I really hope the new testing has put an end to this mess and guys we never dreamed would do such a thing such as Ripkin, Grace, or somebody like that gets called out.

a few years ago I fished with vanish transition but had a few problems with it and switched over to the Vicious flourocarbon. I fished it last year and have not felt the need to even try the berkley 100% so I personally love the Vicious flourocarbon as well as the mono.

I have a quantum energy E500 (black reel) that is a 3.1.1 I want to say. This was the first versions of the energy reels I believe. I am actually willing to sell this if anybody is interested.

I bought a citica D at Dicks a couple years ago because I had a $50 gift card. I was just going to pay the difference in cash when the lady gave me the reciept and the gift card back with $150 on it. So actually dicks paid me $100 and a reel. Now the bad news: My wife standing there says "I DONT THINK THATS RIGHT" . I know it was the right thing to do, but I was not too happy to say the least.

I have a G-Loomis CBR and a parabolic carrot stick. I use the carrot stick more and personally like it better than the loomis.
