I like using the pointers and have caught lots of fish with them, but I have also done well with the Diawa TD minnows.

My chocolate lab barks at me while I reel, tries to eat lures, and jumps in the water as soon as we start to slow down. Tried it once and it absolutely sucked. I actually think I would rather go with my wife than our dog. ;D

I bought some over the winter and noticed the same thing with the skirts. They look like there are a bunch of missing strands and I had to seperate them to make them even throughout. I haven't fished them yet so I'm not gonna say too much yet.

I agree with brokejew and actually like the color of the orange. I dont think the orange rod looks any worse than those purple ito reels I've seen. (No offense guys, I'm sure they are great), but seriously who really cares about the color, as long as they can handle the fish.

You might look into a brand called "rudy projects". My brother plays college baseball right now and uses them. You can get 2 different lenses with your purchase and they actually look decent as well. I know a lot of pro ball players use them and I looked into them for fishing, but since I wear contacts, I really didnt need anything other than my solar bats. Good luck

I know for sure that cordell made the stick on eyes like this one. My favorite trap bait is the suspending spot in blue chrome with orange belly, and my only dislike was that the eyes would fall off after a while.

I'd go with 14lb trilene XT in green color.
