  1. "Great day to be alive" Travis Tritt Myself and my buddies all get together at weddings and sing the sh#@ out of this one after everyone gets hammered, Good times,
  2. Just got a 595c hummingbird sonar/GPS combo last week and it will not read the depths right and will jump to crazy numbers for no reason. Cant figure it out, bought a new battery, made sure it was off of simulation mode, but I cant figure it out. I took it to a spot I knew was 5 ft. deep and it would read 15, 17, 9, and then settle at 5 for about two minutes, then back to 19. I'm getting a bit frustrated so any advice will help, Thanks, Deadeye32
  3. O.K. I agree with the spinnerbait and topwater plan, but I'm sure everybody else will be doing the same thing. I would try finding some outflow of water or pipes where the water runs off and fish those spots with a jig or grub of some type. If you can find rip rap around those areas fish just beyond where the water level gets deeper and try it, just an alternative to the usual tactics. Good luck.
  4. yeah, last year i found some on sale for $0.25 and bought about 90 of them in different colors, I use them in places where I wouldnt want to throw and expensive lure during practice or fun days, and I also use the blades and skirts for other lure projects as well. Not a bad deal and good luck.
  5. I have a couple of the revo's and love them to death. I really havent fished with a reel that smooth and compact in the under $200 price range in my life,(sorry shimano, I still love you too). As for their rods, I wouldnt buy anything now, but I do have this Larry Nixon Special jig/worm rod that I have had for years and absolutely love it. I have mainly Kistler, Loomis, and BPS rods, but that Abu Garcia rod still goes with me every trip, just cant seem to leave it behind, and I seem to just always catch a lot of fish with it.
  6. everybody knows that the catfish are hitting on cracker jacks right now. Come on silly
  7. That Bad Blood thing was a joke. I stayed up to watch and went to bed so mad. I must say Dana does have ***** even though I think he would have got destroyed. Tito had no reason to show, he was in a lose lose situation and if Dana would have made just one run, his reputation would have been destroyed.
  8. Wow, thats hilarious. Never underestimate the fighting power of a plastic bag or in your case toothpaste. ;D
  9. Thanks guys, I ended up getting the kistler, but not the flippin stick, I went with the 7ft. Heavy jig and toad rod. For the type of brush and cover we fish here in Indiana, It seemed like plenty of rod and I loved how light it was. I could tell a difference in holding it compared to the Crucial. Plus I really didnt want a telescopic rod so this was actually perfect for what I needed. Thanks for all your input, Deadeye32
  10. thanks guys, are these good quality rods?
  11. does the G-blanks rod company have a website or number to get in touch with them for custom rods? Thanks
  12. I will have to check out that real seat problem, cause I have an old BPS bionic blade that is about 10-12 years old and it doesnt allow most reels to sit tight on the rod and it drives me crazy, the reel actually wobbles a bit when you reel of move the rod. I will def. check that out. Thanks
  13. Trying to decide which flippin stick to get. I really like the crucials and I a dealer near by has a few kistler magnesiums in my price range of under $200 (dont tell my wife) . What do you guys think. Thanks, deadeye32 p.s. I dont want a telescopic rod either.
  14. Keep em coming Chris, what a great season for you . sure wish it wasnt rainying and snowing here in Indy >
  15. great job and great fish, you california guys can really make us northern fisherman look bad
  16. yeah, that is really weird, My wife and I saw that when we got them developed last night. It must have been something to do with her digital camera. I was looking at the actual picture and can see a fuzzy area around my hand where I might have been moving my hand during the pic. but who knows. To answer the other questions, we did fish at lake tarpon a few days from anderson park with shiners. We caught a few, with the biggest being around 4 pounds.
  17. yeah, sorry guys but my fist fish over 10 lbs. is going on the wall. I have thrown back some nice ones the past couple years including a 8.2 back in Indiana, but I told myself anything over 10 will be a wall hanger.
  18. Went to clearwater Fl. with my wife for spring break and had a chance to fish a freshwater lake at her grandparents condo. Most people were using live shiners and I caught a few doing so, but decided to throw a shakeyhead jig (spot remover) and a BPS floating worm on my new fenwick HMG spinning outfit and caught this beauty. When I hooked her, I told some people on the docks that this was a good fish because she was really pulling drag. When she came up and I saw that mouth, I went shin deep into the gater infested water to grab her up. I told those people after I got her that I would have given a leg for this one. The previous lake record there was 12.5 and a guy with a digital scale weighed her at 11.8. Too bad they are already spawned out down there. I was pretty pumped to say the least. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j245/klimbach32/springbreak07002.jpg http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j245/klimbach32/springbreak07004.jpg
  19. Congrats on a good trip. I am planning on fishing there next week. My wife and I are going to clearwater for spring break and I was looking for some places to fish, Lake Tarpon seems to be the closest and I want to check it out. Are these fish still pretty much pre-spawn, or on the beds yet?
  20. If I was 5ft. tall, I would use an "ice fishing" rod

I have a buddy that tried them last year and thats all he will use now also. He usually uses my gear because he only fishes with me, so last week I grounded him from senko's and hid them when we went this weekend. He was ticked, but I asured him it was for the best ;D. Hopefully now he will start buying his own and I can start using his stuff now.
  22. as far as a rod, I use a fenwick hmg 7ft. medium of my shakey heads. Here in Indy, we were catching um like crazy off of drop offs and ledges. We fished a lake that was shallow all around untill you got about 15ft from the bank and it dropped off to about 8 ft. Thats were we were nailing them last week. I used a spot remover jig head and some worms called "air tail", cant think of the maker right now, but they were about 5in. long and black. Good luck.
  23. I bought one last year when they were on sale for $60 and took it back the next day. I thought it was a piece of junk and wouldnt have paid $30 for it. I hope this newer one or version is much better. Good luck.

great idea. If part would get bitten off you could just eat the rest and use a new one. The funny thing is that realistically it would probobly work.
  25. My freshman year of college I came out to Executioners "its going down" but some of my teamates over the years used Hank Williams Jr. (Country boy can survive) Nelly (batter up) Disturbed (stupify music only/no lyrics) Just to name a few, cant remember them all Good luck
