  1. I'd stock up on some STORM Swimbaits. j/k lol No, but I agree with the paca craws, some mega strike, LC pointers, and a new Revo. Good luck and have fun, Deadeye32
  2. I think what he was saying was that to really understand your lure in the water you should use this theory. When practicing with a new lure or technique use the same rod and reel setup and get used to the feel of the lure before custimizing your setup to help you fish that way better. That way when you tie something new on, You can actually feel the differences between that and something else. If you use the same rod for these applications, you will be able to feel the difference in how different tackle moves and works in the water. I might be wrong, but that's what I took from it.
  3. I agree that most of the highly recommended stuff here is great, but the one product that I could not stand was the Yo Zuri hybrid ultra soft. I had problems with it from the get go and just really dislike the stuff.
  4. I hate diawa with a passion. I had a bad experience with a diawa reel years ago and it has stuck. I know this will get killed by the diawa guys, so I need the shimano and abu posse to step up and back me on this one. I do however like the diawa jerkbaits. I caught a bunch of fish on them last year because a guy sold them really cheap. And yes, shakespeare is junk.
  5. I have the same setup and love it. The black and orange looks great. My dad calls it the Tony Stewart rod Here's a pic with the orange grips on it http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j245/klimbach32/carrotstick.jpg
  6. cause you can buy them at target, and I hate that place with a passion. and they fall over on their side and swim like *****
  7. I agree they make a huge difference. I personally like solor bats cause thats what I've been using the last few seasons and see no need to switch. I would suggest an amber lens for overall fishing, although some might disagree. Good luck
  8. Here's a pic of my nitro. I am actually trying to sell it to get a new boat. Many great memories have been maid with her.
  9. snag em' with rattle traps. ;D
  10. There was an actual commercial on versus the other day for a boat like this that would catch fish. They are really producing these things. I would love to put a buzz bait on the back of that thing
  11. I ordered my carrot stick last week and bought a new revo sx today. I think the black reel will look sweet. good luck, deadeye32
  12. I ordered a carrot stick last week and got my order confirmation notice, but I was wondering how long their shipping usually takes. I couldnt find shipping details anywhere on the site and this is my first order from there. If anybody can help. Thanks, Deadeye
  13. I also take all reels off rods, loosen drag, strip line, and store rods and reels in our outdoor room in the house.
  14. I use the chunks on jigs and I love the baby paca craws on a spot remover. (might be my favorite summertime bait)
  15. 700/4 = $175 per rod, about the same price of a GL3.
  16. It's funny you said that about the cool down and long johns, cause as we were watching the Home Run erby last night, we saw people wearing jackets and long sleeves. My wife was wondering where it was at due to the long clothes.
  17. 8-12 lbs is considered light line for bass fishing if you ask me. If your gonna use mono for jigs, I would say 17lb at least IMO
  18. This is hilarious. : : :
  19. I dont know what you mean by heavyish cover, but for super heavy cover, I use a regular flippin stick, for thick grass and little cover I use a Kistler Magnesium Toad and Frog Special and love it, super sensitive and light, yet strong enough to pull em out.
  20. cotton cordell suspending spot in blue/chrome w/ orange underbelly. hands down my favorite
  21. I had a BPS extreme break this spring and took it back to the clarksville store. They went back and got me a brand new one and said have a good day. Great service and I didnt even have my reciept.
  22. Nixon vs. Duckett (battle of the beards)
  23. Yeah, I agree with Reel Mech, the reel grips work great until they get a little water in there and they slip. Also after using the reel grips, try taking them off and feel how wierd the grips feel. my reels just dont feel right anymore without them on.
