  1. Not sure of other locations but the Dick's in our area (N. TX) are blowing out all GL2's for $119.00 - even the swimbait rods that were marked $255.00. I know this version is not as well liked as previous ones but at that price , might be worth a look.
  2. Not fakes. They carry a lot of outdoors type of gear of different brands. You just have to check often for the best deals since they "blow out" items quickly.
  3. I've bought 3 pairs of Costas so far - 2 for me & a pair for my wife. Very quick shipping & excellent communication. You do have to check often for the very best deals. The "P" lenses are discounted a lot more than the "G" lenses.
  4. My favorite hook maker now is Penetration Hooks. Good quality, good guys. Their hook designed just for Flukes are awesome. http://penhooks.com/products/f-hook
  5. A big Plus 1 on SteepandCheap.com. You have to check often but today they have Costas as low as $52.00. I also saw Native Eyewear, Kaenon & Oakley tonight.
  6. Love my Zekos (watch those Holiday sale discounts) followed by my Crocs flip flops or Crocs Santa Cruz.
  7. Anglers Pro Tackle http://anglersprotackle.com/index.php?l=product_list&m=233
  8. I am in the commercial janitorial business where we use battery operated floor scrubbers for continuous hours at a time. I was constantly replacing batteries until I switched to Trojan. They handle the cycling better than others I've tried and typically last twice as long as the others. They retail in my area for $140.00 so your deal is a good one. Trojan is all I use in my boats now.
  9. I've now bought 2 pair of Costas from this site. You have to check often for the best deals. But you can't beat 580P's for $68.00! Got them in less than a week both times. http://www.steepandcheap.com/gear-cache/shop-costa-on-sale/CDM004P-MACRWBLTR
  10. TW has the Okuma C3-40X for half off right now.
  11. My preference is to throw big baits, but I hit a stretch where I couldn't get bit. So I decided to downsize & tried the Cabin Creek Spider Parts. Its a spider twin tail in which the skirts are separate. I bought about 5 different colors so I could mix/match. The skirt has one strand that is thicker to be used as the weed guard. Always have one tied on now. http://www.cabincreekbaits.com/spider-parts/
  12. Just got my Costas here for 1/3 of retail. You have to check often as the deals come & go. http://www.steepandcheap.com/gear-cache/save-up-to-70-off-sunglasses
  13. Whatever you do, don't try these. http://www.6thsenselures.com/#!custom-swimbaits/c1bkm
  14. I used to fish with this old timer in a local club several years ago. He didn't win many tournaments but he always led in points for AOY. He always seemed to limit. I drew him once & he said his go to bait was a Green Pumpkin Fluke that he dipped just the tip of the tail in Chartreuse & used a paint brush to put the same on the belly of the Fluke right at the chin. He fished it on a shakey head with a spinning rod. It didn't take long before I bought the koolade.
  15. I've used them all. Gammy's & Owner's are top notch. But I tried these & have not looked back: http://penhooks.com/products/f-hook
  16. I won a M action spinning rod in a club raffle. I too felt it was tip heavy but once I put a Revo S on it, it seemed more balanced. I've been throwing those Cabin Creek Spider Parts lately, pitching under docks & to laydowns with straight 20# Power Pro. This combo has saved my butt a lot lately. I've got more expensive rods but this one gets used more than the others. Just my 2 cents....
  17. Since it is designed for braid, I doubt you will have issues.
  18. Not $300.00 but on ebay you can get them for about $210.00 shipped. I've even seen them at $199.00 on occasion. That makes it a little easier to swallow.
  19. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Hard-Baits/Casting-Trolling-Spoons%7C/pc/104793480/c/104732280/sc/104260680/Thomas-Lures-Cyclone-Spoon/1575748.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fcasting-trolling-spoons%2F_%2FN-1100331%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104260680 Maybe this one?
  20. Xcite XB-1 Silent
  21. At times they will. I always keep one rigged because not many people throw them. If the bite's slow, sometimes that different bait will get you bit. I also have a tournament buddy that throws the Basstrix giant tube. That thing is about 6 in long & about 2 in thick. He may not catch as many as the rest, but he usually has big bass.
  22. I've got 3 Serranos that I bought off of that bid site. I have 3 because I really like 1 and 2. Light, very good drag system, easy to adjust. Because of this experience, I bought one of the big Komodo's for my Guide Select swimbait rod. I could spend the same or more, but can't justify it - especially when you can find them discounted from their $179.00 retail price.
