  1. Also a great Free Rig bait.
  2. I bet if you rigged it wacky on a weighted jig head, the stripers would smash it.
  3. The key to most (if not all) BFS reels is a shallow, light weight spool. Your best bet would be to use braid (thinner) to leader. Because I am around bigger fish here in Texas, I use 15 lb braid (8 lb diameter) to an 8-10 lb leader. With that combo, I can cast as far as I need to.
  4. The 3.5" and the 5" Have worked for me. The 3.5" works great on a drop shot while the 5" is my go-to Free Rig bait. I have not tried the bigger sizes.
  5. Check out their YouTube videos every Sunday at 10AM CDT. They show all the new releases.
  6. 13-12 on a Browning Boron rod with a Abu 4600 using 15# Big Game. Lure was a 1/2 oz white bucktail jig with a 6 in pearl curly tail grub.
  7. The Hook Up Tackle
  8. It reminds me of a technique several years ago when we used a weighted swimbait hook on Rage baits. I think they even called it the Rage Rig, but I could be wrong.
  9. Me as well, but the OP asked about the Menace, which was what I used before the Spunk Shad.
  10. 4 inch rigged vertically.
  11. When I swap, I use Owner STX-58 in 3/0
  12. I use Tatsu because I am mostly braid to leader. The braid will last a year or two and the cost of Tatsu (or any premium fluro) doesn't hurt so bad when you are only using 10-20 feet at a time. That being said, I am using straight braid (832 Camo) more and more. I am finding out these Texas bass are less line shy than I thought.
  13. Agree with dodgeguy. Fantastic reel for the money.
  14. A 4 inch Chartreuse Pepper curly-tail Ringworm is a limit getter for me.
  15. Plus 1 on the Gambler
  16. 17. Ali Express has a LOT of KOs - even use the same name or at least a part of the name.
  18. As I have swapped out hooks on my swimbaits, I have exclusively used BKK after the recommendation from the Tacticle Bassin' guys. I have had zero issues and they are a pain to unhook (which is a good thing). That being said, these are bigger/stronger hooks than the ones referenced by the OP.
  19. Size #10 https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Ichikawa_Fishing_84S_Light_Wire_Treble_Hooks/descpage-ICZX.html
  20. I did something similar with an old marker buoy. Easy to wrap up and store.
  21. Thanks, Bulldog1935. I have about 5 BFS setups but they are all one-piece rods. Those are fine for the boat but I travel a lot for work and would like to keep a travel rod with me. As long as I could get it in a 48" hard case, two piece rods would be fine. I will look at the JDM sites and see what is available. My Conquest, Aldebaran & Curado BFS reels came from Digitaka. My Daiwa Salamandura came from Ali Express. Thanks to all for your responses. I know it was kind of an open-ended question. And yes, my board name still applies. My partner and I won our last tournament and I had 3 swimbait rods and 3 BFS rods LOL.
  22. Bass BFS, 1/8 oz max and lake fishing - mix of soft plastics and small cranks.
  23. If it will fit into the 4 ft hard case I travel with. Thanks, but those are not BFS rods.
  24. Thanks for the recommendations.
  25. Can anyone please recommend a BFS travel casting rod that isn't $400.00 ! I want something I can keep in the truck.
