  1. An unfortunate trade off for the action it gives. If you were fishing for a check, maybe. But fun fishing would be a no-go for me.
  2. Unless they are cruising just below the surface, they can only see the bottom. Keep it simple - white, black and bone.
  3. My PB teener came on a Berkley Lightning Rod - 7'MH. At the time it cost $35. I think they are $50 now and come in 2-pice versions as well. I still use an 8' UL casting rod (2 piece) for BFS. It has been flawless.
  4. Amazon did just what they said. New rod arrived today in perfrct condition!
  5. I use these... https://www.amazon.com/Mimilure-Spinner-Spinners-Spinnerbait-Accessories/dp/B01N9OKJKT?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&smid=A3DWBSNIJU0QPR&th=1
  6. Well, I took a look thinking I was probably too late, but actually found something I was looking for - a light action spinning rod for Ned stuff. It was in the Pro Staff Series and was $68 after the coupon that was in the description. Got it the next day (yesterday) and there was a big green sticker on the shipping tube that said "open this end." I guess the driver took that seriously as that end was totally open - and the rod was broken. I know - shocker! Amazon says they are picking it up and bringing me a new one today. We shall see...
  7. I use a Shimano Sensilite 7' L for my Ned Rigs.
  8. The 60 is my go-to BFS topwater. I always have that and a Karashi tied on.
  9. The pre-cut dividers is something that was long overdue.
  10. I have gone to BKK. I still have some Redline weedless wacky hooks I will use eventually.
  11. @WRB-2.0 has given me many, solid recommendations over the years.
  12. I still use my All Star WR1. I am constanly looking for another.
  13. Ouch! On some items, the new prices will make it difficult for some to pull the trigger.
  14. Gold Label leader line is thinner per pound test than their fluro. Great option. That being said I am more and more using 20lb 832 in Camo. It is 6lb in diameter and I have not noticed a difference here in Texas.
  15. 100% agree. For the price you pay, you would think they would use a better quality snap. I have bent out too many so they get changed out before I ever use them. I use the Decoy.
  16. These prices are only the beginning. The Hook Up video yesterday said the Jackhammers are going to $20 !
  17. I agree but would add that when using EWG, my hook up percentage increased greatly when I switched to the Owner Haymaker. The point is on a more upward angle. Just don't expose the point. It will grab any and everything!
  18. Since I like to throw mine where they might not come back, my choice is the D&M Buzzsaw. It has a free-swinging EWG hook so I can rig my trailers weedless. It is also very durable.
  19. Clear water, fast twitches just under the surface. It is definitely a numbers bait, but as has been said if you hook anything over 4 lbs and you will, you better have a great drag and lots of open water because the hooks will fail. I upgrade the front hook with the Ryugi Pierce. I have not found a feathered treble hook for the rear.
  20. 4/0 Haymaker - 3/16 oz free rig
  21. PY - 8.25# Toad Thumber Swamper Frog in Bad Gill CY - 5.25# Geecrack 2.8 Bellows Gill in AJ's Juice on a 1/8oz Ned Head PB - 13.75# Hand-tied White Bucktail jig with a 6 in White grub trailer
  22. I too have had quality issues the last few years. I started buying the Hildebrandt jig spinners and attaching them to other jig heads. Problem solved. https://www.lurepartsonline.com/1099-Original-Hildebrandt-Jig-Spinners-2PK?srsltid=AfmBOoou971yd3F7VzsbgvplfZQBTBEE4QMrC-3i8xBWxcAdwc6vKTR5
  23. I have 2 pairs of the polycarbonate also. No complaints.
  24. I am switching all hooks to BKK. Since they are made in China, I have been stocking up just in case.
