I have a digital line counter that has yards/meters. It’s little bit more pricey but it has already paid for itself with the amount of money I have saved with using all of my braid instead of wasting.

I would have initially said Vanford but it’s more than I thought you wanted to spend at $240. The Vanford is my favorite spinning reel but at $146, the JDM Stradic FL is the better value.

Found this calculator a while back and it’s been a game changer for me. I use it for EVERY reel. I use braid for most of my combos and I use only 75 yards of braid for each reel. With that calculator and a line counter, I know exactly how much backing goes on each reel. So now when I buy 300 yds of braid, it can spool up 4 different reels instead of having a weird amount left over that goes to waste.

Beat me to it…haha. The prior Zillion SV was released in 2016 I believe. So when people say 21 Zillion, that means they are referring to the recent model.

Ah ok. So to be fair, now put the Zillion on the MH Fury and the MGL on the Aird X and test them again.

So I have a serious question. When testing them, which rod did you use? Or did you have them on different rods? If so, what rod did each reel go on?

Once you use intergalactic shipping, it’s hard to use anything else.

I’m excited to hear the back story on how you were able to get your hands on the Zillion SV and MGL 150 in just one day? Just two days ago, you weren’t sure which Zillion everyone was talking about.

Which reels did you compare? The Curado 150 MGL vs 21 Zillion SV?

Initially I put my HD on my chatterbait rod but it didn’t feel right to me. After talking to @AlabamaSpothunter and his experience with the SV/Chatterbaits , I ordered another SV to handle that role. My HD got moved to my heavy rod that will used for jigs/t-rigs and small swimbaits.

What are the complaints about the 3700 size? I love the 3700 box but it doesn’t fit in my backpack.

Tried out this theory and the weed guards still got smashed. In order to avoid this, weed guards would have to be trimmed extremely short to where it would be pointless. Another issue is that if you plan on keeping any trailers on, it makes space in the box extremely limited. I think the only realistic use for this box is to store bladed jigs with no trailers. Since I still have the box, here are some comparison pics of the plastic holders to show the huge difference in height.

If you fish on the regular at night on a boat/yak/land, it’s a good idea to carry a main/back up light for multiple reasons. I am a flashlight guy and I can tell you that now days you can get awesome reliable lights with multiple features that are not THAT expensive. Spend the money on a good flashlight just like you would a rod/reel/lures.

Tons of reviews and info all over the place especially here. In my opinion they are really THAT good. I’ve previously stated that if didn’t buy another reel, and I had to use these Zillion SVs for the rest of my life, I would be happy. I’m not a baitcasting Shimano guy so I’m sure someone else would be better suited to answer that question.

Update: So I purchased the 3600 jig/bladed jig box from BPS because I had some points, and I wanted to test it out for myself. This box is HORRIBLE. Don’t know how Plano let this box even hit the market. Did they not test it out for themselves? Like stated previously by @JustBassinThru it smashes the weedguards on all jigs/swimjigs. The design/row placement even when using it for bladed jigs just doesn’t make sense. I have the 3700 size and love but the 3600 is a failure. This box is definitely going back to BPS.

As a bank guy that hikes at night, I needed a head lamp that has multiple modes. I use a Wowtac A2S. It has 6 modes from Firefly (.03 lumens) to turbo (1050 lumens) including SOS. I just keep it on Firefly mode until I hook a fish, then I’ll turn it on to low which is 24 lumens. Years ago I consistently fished at night, and my most successful baits were a Junebug senko followed by a watermelon with black flake senko. Terminator used to make a short arm single Colorado blade with black skirt spinnerbait that was also lethal. This year I caught all my best fish with a two toned color Fat Ika.

This. The ALX IKOS M/F is called the Soul. It’s an excellent all around spinning rod. I have it paired with a Stradic FL 2500. It’s my wife’s go to rod when she fishes and she throws a variety of baits. Miravel looks promising, but other excellent reels in the $99 range are the Fuego LT (light) and BG (robust).

Price already went up $10. Hurry!

My apologies. In your previous post you were implying that you were interested in the Zillion SV, but I wasn’t aware you were inactive. Sorry to hear. With that many reels, I personally would sell some and buy couple Zillions for whenever you make your return, even if it is months/years from now. They are that good!

Gotcha. Appreciate the reply. Do some research on the newer Zillion SV before you totally pass on Daiwa. Tons of feedback on this forum in the recent months. What are you waiting for? ?
