Casts extremely well. The weight of the 3DB series is 5/8. Ribs or not, it’s going to launch. They just came out with a 3” version but haven’t tried those yet. Most successful color for me has been the Prism Ghost Shad.

Yozuri Pencil

I have 2 ALX Zolo Deputy rods. Rod is 4.3oz. It’s not the rod. I have both Deputies paired with Zillion SV’s (one US and one JDM) and they are light and probably my favorite combo right now. The JDM Zillion SV is 6.1 oz.

If I had as much success as you with your current technique, I wouldn’t care how anyone else fishes it. If it works for you, keep doing it.

Late to the party but here is a size comparison of the USM Zillion SV knobs (top) and JDM Zillion SV knobs (bottom). I ended up putting Tat 100 knobs on the JDM Zillion.

I have 3 (2 USM and 1 JDM) and they are amazing! I would buy 10 more if I could. One thing I did notice is that the knobs on the JDM version is smaller but I swapped it out with the knobs from my Tat 100. Love everything else about them. No issues with the dials for me.

If you go braid, I would go 40lb. If you go anything else, I would go 12lb yozuri hybrid. For backing, I like 10lb Big Game. Backing serves more than one purpose for me. Allows the braid to grip but more importantly, it saves me money. I use 75 yards of braid on each reel and the rest is backing. So if I purchase 300 yards of braid, I can use it for 4 reels.

I been using 832 for years. No reason to try anything else.

Good point. Hook Up Tackle also has 6 per package. Midway has 10.

You broke the Expride while using the sleeper or it was a non related incident? I throw 3/4 sleepers a lot and I use the ALX Zolo Toadface.

Just make it a habit of checking your line. I do 8lb-12lb consistently on rocks and have a bad habit of NOT checking my line. Learned a valuable lesson last week because of it.

Your line diameter changing shouldn’t matter like some has said. I have gotten extremely confident in tying a FG with Rizzuto finish. I feel like I have a solid “system” that makes it easy and no teeth required.
