Can't miss places to eat around Bristol?
I wish the wife didn't have to get up at 0330 Thurs. AM, as I would love to hit the truck race tonight. :-[

Revo better than the Curado?
Why should you have to do that in order to get everything you want in a reel? All of my Shimano reels are bone stock and will handle any fish you want to catch.

I'm sure you'll be in a suite, so it won't bother you too bad.

Can't miss places to eat around Bristol?
Unless something has changed in the last couple of years, that place sucks more than a Gate City hot dog.

There's no chance of me making it to second or first. I have to miss our next tournament and the two after that are on lakes where I've never caught many fish. Anyway, they're too far ahead to make up that much ground on them. We have three drops and their three lowest scores are higher than my three lowest (currently 40-45-0). I'll be glad with anything but 6th.

Can't miss places to eat around Bristol?
No, I haven't spent much time in JC over the last 4-5 years. My trip to Freiberg's back in the winter was one of the few times I've been over there recently. Have driven through a couple of times on the way to Watauga, but that's about it. As for your Cootie Brown's suggestion, I would avoid that place at all costs. We ate at the one in Kingsport a few times, grew to hate it. If someone asked me what two places personify the Tri-Cities, it would be Pal's and the Purple Cow. Pal's is an institution.

Never heard of it.

6.81 lbs. for the win. Moved up to 4th in the club standings and hopefully secured a spot in the top six and a trip to the state 6-Man Team tournament next year.

Can't miss places to eat around Bristol?
Pal's (drive-thru only, unless you feel like driving to Kingsport and hitting one of the two original locations) El Patio off exit 7 of 81 is good Mexican. Purple Cow in Kingsport (drive-thru) is quite good. I suggest the Mike's Intimidator. Where are you staying? There aren't many non-chain type restaurants anywhere in the Tri-Cities. The good thing about Bristol is that you can be in Kingsport or Johnson City within 15-20 minutes. There is a pretty good Chinese buffet about 10 minutes from the track as well. If you're in Johnson City, there are several good places. El Matador is a fine Mexican place. Freiberg's is great as well ( http://www.eatbrats.com/ ). While I've never eaten there, I've heard good things about The Peerless in JC ( http://www.thepeerlessinc.com/jc/index.htm ). Also in JC is The Firehouse, which isn't bad. Wish I was off work Thurs. night, could take you out on the water.

Burley's Random Photo of the Day
- it's almost FOOTBALL time...
People watch pre-season football?- What have you purchased recently????? 2010
What, you think you're above the law? And to contribute to the thread, I bought a 36 pack of Angel Soft and two gallons of Premium Plus oil on Friday.- Frosty beverage thread
I hate you.- Baitcaster: round or more aerodynamic shape?
I don't believe I've ever put any of my reels through the wind tunnel.- Daiwa Tierra and Advantage
With the exception of a couple of bearings, they're the same reel.- Alternative to G Loomis products
Warranty does not equal free replacement for any reason.- NRX with wildcard warranty and Free Costa 580 on layaway! now to choose reel and line :)
That reel is obsolete.- A Little Curado, Fenwick and Megabass Love (some photos)
Your yard looks worse than mine.- Fed Nation or TBF?
Who were you contacting? Every email I've sent to TBF has been answered within a day. Last summer when I was learning the ropes, I was sending at least one a week. Contact your state president if you have any questions.- Fed Nation or TBF?
I would suggest contacting clubs affiliated with both and talking with members who have fished the state competitions. Also talk with the secretaries who whomever handles all of the paperwork. - it's almost FOOTBALL time...
