Kicking the habit...
Nothing inspirational about me... :-? I quit 5 years ago, stayed away for a couple of years, then got sucked back in. I was worried the second time would be harder and it was to a certain extent. Hell, I'd fight Cpt. Kirk to the death right now for one...maybe. But then that would be $40 wasted... But thanks Russ... I could stop taking the stuff now, as I forgot to take any yesterday. But I will finish up with what I've got since I'm such a cheap bassturd and hate to waste anything. I will miss the dreams, but I won't miss sleeping 10-12 hours a day.

hummingbird 565 transducer?
How is the lower unit on your motor configured? Skeg forward or skeg towards the rear. If it is pretty far forward, I would suggest using a puck. The skeg will protect it pretty well. If it is towards the rear of the lower unit, then I would go with a skimmer. This will allow the transducer to 'roll' with any bottom contact. YMMV...

While I have and do use Strike Kings in certain places, they are anything but a 'better' spinnerbait. JMHO...- hummingbird 565 transducer?
What transducer do you have now? Puck or skimmer? Both will work on a TM. My next TM mounted graph will have a puck, although there is something to be said for a skimmer.- Kicking the habit...
3 weeks sans Mr Marlboro. Chewing gum is my new friend. Stopped spending $25 every week and a half on smokes, started spending $10 a week or so on gum. I think I've got two weeks or so of Chantix left. The stuff does work.- HUMBERTO
Mickey the Curmudgeon... That's the good thing about hurricanes on the OBX. Not many trees to worry about, just tons of sand and water. Then there is that annoying thing about being just a couple of feet above sea level. Like I said, I got a taste of Isabelle in 03 after we evac'ed to Williamsburg. It was more than enough to bring me to my senses. We've weathered a couple of tropical storms before, they aren't bad. My only gripe was having an 1/8" of salt and sand caked on my truck. They aren't laughing matters, but for some strange morbid reason I enjoy natural disasters, etc. I love being stranded at work by 3' of snow and spending 12 hours in the dark with nothing but a book and a kerosene heater to keep me company. But like I said, I'm insane... :-/- HUMBERTO

I've always wanted to ride out a hurricane. Had a chance with Isabel in 03, but the realty company forced us to evacuate. Got a small taste of it in Williamsburg the day it made landfall. Good thing I didn't stay behind though as I would have been stuck in Kitty Hawk for at least a week. Tropical storms and depressions are fun though.- I suck at cranking.
3/4 Hot Lips are the deepest divers I've used. When a DD22 or Fat Free Shad won't get there, a Hot Lips will. As for the Rapala cranks (as is with all cranks), subtract 2-3'. The DT16 might get to 16' with 4 lb. test. Good crank nonetheless, but not a 16' diver.- Weight loss
I went from 250 to 190 in the span of 6 months in 05. Of course, there were underlying medical conditions. Only put 10 of it back on though.- I want a GOOD knife. Benchmade, SOG, or?

FWIW, don't waste your money on cheap spinnerbaits, esp. if you're slow-rolling or hopping. The swivels always suck, causing you to have to reel too fast to get the blades spinning. I have a local guy who does custom baits. The blade spins even when you turn the crank once a minute. Check out www.heavycover.com for good semi-custom baits.- Free fishing trip with Gman

In your line of work I would be more worried about those with two legs rather than four. :-/- I want a GOOD knife. Benchmade, SOG, or?
Russ, you may want to check your state laws regarding the carry of knives with blades over 3" in length.- Reel Spray
: Spray it on the line. If you want to dunk a reel or spray it off, tear it down afterward and relube. I don't know how much less of a 'smart ***' I can be. : sweet jeebis...- Reel Spray
Why would you put silicone on something that requires oil?- Revo SX vs New Curado
But how often do you really change anything? On a reel with a magnetic brake, perhaps often. But with centrifugal brakes, I set them when I buy them and never touch them again. One of the reasons I despise magnetic braking systems.- Reel Spray
The spray is for the line.- Reel Spray
It helps. Instead of dropping $6 on a bottle of Real Magic, grab a can of silicone spray at an autoparts store. Got a can of CRC silicone spray for $3, twice the size of the usual can of Real Magic.- My Babies
I've wanted to do this for quite some time. The only problem is leaving said aquarium alone with a curious and stupid cat.- California Delta Tournament ( PICS ADDED)
I'm surprised the turtles didn't get to those fish before you did.- I want a GOOD knife. Benchmade, SOG, or?
