Hokies(football)
I remember a time when the state's roads weren't littered with VPI stickers, the citizen's heads weren't adorned in VPI hats, etc. Around here, everyone and their brother jumped on the VPI bandwagon about 6 years ago. 10 years ago they didn't even know who VPI was. I have a hard time pulling for the cHokies because of the fans I deal with every day. 5BL, I need to introduce your boat to a nice orange and white hat.

Yo-Zuri X-Tex Cobra
Did some casting in the yard this morning. Don't know if it was the temperature (13*) or the line, but that stuff just won't lay on a spool. Supposed to hit the water tomorrow afternoon for a couple of hours. If the stuff doesn't get better when wet, I think it will be stripped and replaced with 12 lb. Hybrid, CXX, or Big Game. On another note, I am totally sold on St Croix rods.

My first Luck Craft
I've got a plug retreiver, I just wonder if it will work. Also carry a couple of spark plugs. In the summer it isn't so bad (unless I'm river fishing) as I'll just go in after it (see my Gettin Nekkid thread from last summer). I'm actually not all that afraid as I throw $25 swimbaits in some nasty places. But then again I've got 50 lb. P-Line braid tied on to pull them out.

How did it happen?
You're telling me. I buy KVD's books and baits and no letter. Roland tells me that Spro baits, Megastrike, Smart Shield, GYBC, and BPS fishing shirts are good, so I buy them. No letter. :'( ;D

How did it happen?
7 3700's full. I've got 12 or 13 3600's with odds and ends in them. A few are empty after I did a re-org last night. I'm waiting with great anticipation for my thank-you letters from KVD and Roland Martin. ;D

Jig Head Combo Kits
It isn't really the only option. Cheap, but by no means the only option. You could pour your own or buy specific sizes in bulk. If you're fishing tubes, either get tube heads or T-rig them.

Jig Head Combo Kits
I don't know if this is what you're looking for or not. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=15609&hvarDept=100&hvarEvent=&hvarClassCode=10&hvarSubCode=6&hvarTarget=browse The only problem with these 'kits' are that they usually include far too many of the smaller sizes that you would never use.

I'm almost afraid to fish them. :-X

How did it happen?
I actually just bought a larger bag. It is as big as I want to carry. I'm just going to have to decide what I am going to use on that particular day and take only that. Hell, I only use about 20% of what I take with me on any given day.

Spool-Filling mystery.....
Mine does the same thing. Straightens itself out after a day on the lake.

How did it happen?
Started off last year with 2 or 3 3600 boxes of tackle and a Plano Magnum full of hard baits. Now I've got 7 3700 boxes full of stuff and I'm still looking for more storage. I've went through 3 tackle bags and 12 3600 boxes in the last year trying to get just the right amount of storage. I had hoped that changing to the 3700's would help out, but that wasn't the case. Bag can't hold anything more and I've got more stuff that needs to go in there. I'm terribly terribly sick. :-[

Golf Question
Did the shaft break at the hosel or above? If above, the repair won't be all that hard. Cost-wise, you're looking at around $10-15 for materials. $6-7 for a shaft, $2-3 for a grip, tape, and solvent. Should take around 30 minutes-1 hour for the job. Longer if the shaft broke inside the hosel (requires drilling). When buying a shaft, make sure to get the proper size. This measurement can be obtained by removing the remaining shaft from the hosel and measuring. When removing a shaft from the hosel, use a heat gun or torch. Be careful to apply only enough heat to loosen the glue/epoxy. Just about every course pro knows someone who does club repair. Or even do it themselves.

Need Help To Find Reel Repair For Cabelas Prodigy
Not local service, but service from Pflueger. One reason I stick with Daiwa and Shimano is that you can pretty much count on the companies being around for the long haul. I know Pflueger advertises that they've been around since 1881, but the only time I can ever remember hearing the Pflueger name before the last few years is from my grandfather. He had an old old Pflueger casting reel.

Shimano Compre v. St. Croix Premier
The Premier is offered in 5 7' models and 2 7'6 models. The Premier models have a 5 year warranty. You have to step up to the Avid for the lifetime warranty. As for BPS, I saw several 7' Premier rods at the Charlotte NC store on Tuesday.

Not really a knock on Pflueger, but I wonder about their reels as well. Has anyone had to have their reels serviced?

Yo-Zuri X-Tex Cobra
It will be fished at least once. Couldn't pass it up for $3/200 yards.

Yo-Zuri X-Tex Cobra
BPS is practically giving this stuff away and I can somewhat see why. :-/ Bought a spool of the 14 lb. to try. Filled a Citica last night using Ike's tip (rag with Reel Magic). Tied on a plug, then pushed the clutch bar. BOOM! Line going everywhere. Like a slinky this stuff is. Gave the spool a good dose of RM and it seems to have calmed a bit now. I will say one thing, this is some thick thick line.

This is exactly why I tell my friends to avoid the store-branded reels.
