I've hunted and fished with a former warden for the last 16 years. He exemplified professionalism. I was sad to see him leave that job. Doing a better job now as a sheriff though. A good GW is one who enjoys the outdoors as they exhibit a great deal of common sense when dealing with fellow outdoorsmen. There are an ever-increasing number of CPO's who are only there to be in LE, not protect the state's woods and waters.

Yes, they all exhibit different characteristics (strength, stretch, abrasion resistance, shear resistance). I've tried Trilene 100%, Vanish, Stren 100%, XPS and Viscious. So far Trilene 100% and Stren 100% give me everything I want. Didn't mind Vanish. XPS was too shear prone (line splits). Viscious sucked.

Yes, you can use a set of smooth needle nose to extract the pin (what I use before Jimzee gave me a set of customs). Just takes a little more work. Sometimes those scoundrels are in there so tight that you pretty much have to use a hammer & punch. I'll never buy another reel made in that manner.

good for baits 1/2 oz. and up , if you pratice alot , maybe 3/8 oz. , maybe ... That is to be expected with that huge, heavy spool.

I have had a couple of nights where they would kill 3/16 but never look twice at 1/8 or 1/4.

That was a brand new bait 24 hours before that photo was taken. Spent Wed. running it through grass and shell beds with nary a bite. First stop Thurs. AM it hooked a 5+ that ended up going back to the bottom with that fish. Tied on another, it caught that fishes twin. And it looks the same now.

No experience with the Winch, but it is reported to be a dog with lighter baits.

The transition from those two reels to the Core 50 is painless. I own three Curados, three Citicas and one Core 50. Only difference between them is that as the price goes up, they get more smooth and free.

How long does it take to get the demos & how long can I keep them? It takes two days from the day we ship them for the reels to reach you. Do you prefer centrifugal or magnetic braking systems?

It depends on the primary conditions fished. Any of the CDM mirrors will excel in bright conditions, but are a little too dark for general purpose use. Straight copper or amber lenses excel in low-light conditions and offer adequate darkness for brighter conditions. If I could only own one, the lenses would be either amber or copper.

Cold seize, warm those puppies up before hammering down. I had a thread about a month ago here talking about it. This happened late in the day. We launched at 6AM.

The only difference I can see between the 570 and the 565 is the shape of the head unit. All features seem to be the same. Best unit you can buy for less than $500 IMO. Resolution is second to none.
