  1. Michang that is a great tip! I will have to try that. I always have had issues with the leader twisting when trying to thread the braid and twist it around to make the wraps of the knot.
  2. x2 Lightening is really fun to watch. Loud and bright. Basically a natural firework.
  3. It is so much fun. Sometimes they will jump almost completely out of the water kind of like a dolphin when they make a long run. Closest thing to saltwater fishing IMO.
  4. Looks like TW has them too. I believe there is a memorial day sale coming up in May if you wanted to save some money. http://www.***.com/Lews_Bowed_95mm_Carbon_Fiber_Handle/descpage-LHCF.html
  5. The tackletrap has the lew's 95mm handles in stock. If you call Gary you might be able to get a deal on 4. If you are a member of another certain forum you get 10% also.
  6. I am not trying to steer this thread off course or anything, but have you seen the responses that some people have made to Donald Sterling? Snoop Dogg (a famous African American rapper) made one where he calls him a "white boy" and a "redneck". Talk about double standard. Don't take this post the wrong way. I have nothing against any race and treat them equally. I am not in any way backing up Donald Sterling for his inappropriate and cruel words and racism.
  7. This. Once the general public finds out about this new curado (or for that matter sees it in stores since it has been very hard to find anywhere, especially lefties), the ch E will not sell... other than the 50e. I think they should discontinue the 200e and just keep the 50e at the $199 price. Gotta have a low dollar 50 size.
  8. To catch those unemotional spawners, try sneaking a wacky rig or jig up on them and then knock it into them. That will really p#$@ them off and most of the time they will react immediately and eat it. As soon as they have it in their mouth set the hook because often they will try and spit it out within a second or two as they aren't really feeding, but defending.
  9. Look into the bps crankin stick. It gets a lot of rave reviews.
  10. OP, You are either using too heavy of line, too little amount of line, or your rod and reel aren't set up properly.
  11. The curado E has been discontinued since around 2011. I think the chronarch E will last maybe a few more months, but probably not even until icast. I am guessing that it will not sell too great once the general public starts buying the curado I that has been hard to find lately and hasn't been instock anywhere (especially the lefties). Apparently the E's are still being manufactured but who knows.
  12. Don't boat flip anything over a pound. Don't use the rod to pull off a snag. Don't use the rod to break off. Don't use the rod to pull in a stick or log you snag. Don't bring the rod up to past 10 o clock or so when fighting a fish. Use rod sleeves.
  13. $400+ reel on an $80 rod? Do that reel some justice.
  14. A pure graphite rod is more sensitive than a composite or pure fiberglass rod. IMO, there are better rods for the price. I would look around in the classifieds or CL or wait for a sale and get a nicer rod for less.
  15. 206 sounds is too high for it to be worth it IMO. You can get type R's for around 130 and the JDM 103 spool will probably only cost around 40. The small cosmetic differences are not worth much. With the $ saved from getting a type R with a JDM 103 spool, you could get a zillion CC knob and drag star along with some nice knobs. Have you all seen the More than PE SV though? http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ja&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fall.daiwa21.com%2Ffishing%2Fitem%2Freel%2Fbait_rl%2Fmt_pe_sv%2Findex.html&edit-text=&act=url A tatula with mag sealed bearings, an SV spool, and all the fancy cosmetics you could ask for. It probably has the clickies we all go crazy for too. It is essentially Daiwa's response to the Shimano Exsence dc, another premium calico bass PE/braid reel.
  16. You could even go with 50 yds and fill 3 reels. Might as well put 30 yds of backing each time. it will add up over time.
  17. Put 75 yds on 2 reels and use backing.
  18. Looks like someone forgot their swim trunks. There are a few ways to solve this issue: 1. Weaker hooks so you can bend em open, but you risk having a fish straighten them out. 2. Swim for them. 3. Try letting them float up. Try pulling from another angle. Most of the time when I lose a lure I end up finding it a few weeks later on the other side of the pond. When I break off in a lake, there is basically 0 chance of finding it again.
  19. The Potomac produced the world record verified snakehead, but that doesn't mean there aren't bigger snakeheads overseas.
  20. I would be first in line for the calais at 30 bucks.
  21. and on top of the looks it weighs 5.2 oz!!!
  22. What I am saying is that I cringed because a calais for 15 dollars is a huge steal! I would need a few days to recover if I missed out on that.
  23. Don't pay retail price. Get a Lew's tournament pro for around 148 if you like Lew's.
