  1. Ive seen them do it up against rocks and it was just awesome to watch! The crankbait bites were insane too!
  2. You are breaking the two tails apart out of the package right? Are you rigging them with the tails horizontal? I use them and they flutter independently really well for me.
  3. Im extremely used to split grips at this point.
  4. I cant seem to find any shops that stock Dobyns rods around me, and I think Id like to buy a Savy. Im looking for a true MH rod, and it seems to me that some folks find the 733 a little less than a MH. It'll be for light weight T-Rigs, rage rigs, swim jigs, grubs, etc. 1/4oz to 1/2 oz. Itll be paired with a Curado 50E. Ive got a hole to fill between a 7'2" Cumara MF, and a Compre 7'2" MHXF. Those of you with experience with Dobyns, do they rate a little light, or are they pretty close. Thanks Drew
  5. Thanks for sharing. It'll be here Friday.
  6. I was just like you a month ago. Then I decided to leave everything else at home, and fish the jig exclusivley. I got skunked two out of the first three days, and I just kept fishing it. I missed bites, I wasnt setting the hook hard enough, and had three in a row throw the jig back at me. I just kept fisihing it. This weekend I fished local ponds 5 times (Fri night, Sat am, Sat night, Sun am, Sun night) with nothing but jigs and caught probably 50 fish for 8 hours of fishing time. Ill fish the same area three different ways. Ill slow hop it, then quick hop it, then swim it and let the bass tell me how theyd like me to present it.
  7. Alot of reputable ebay sellers are blowing out the 2012 Quantum Energy reels for $99 free shipping. If I was buying a $100 new reel today, thatd be it.
  8. Well, yesterday I shared your story. Today I left the house with a bitsy jig and baby rage craws and nothing else. Caught four in an hour and two others spit the hook. I left after an hour. The jigs still tied on.....
  9. I know it relieves stress for me. I can tell Im stressed out when Ive been home for 10 minutes, and my wife says "Why dont you go fishing".
  10. The difference between 92 with 40 percent humidity, and 102 with 80 percent humidity feels like 30 degrees. Ill take what we have right now!
  11. Its almost mid-summer here in Houston..... Although we've cooled off to a November like 92!
  12. 7'2" Medium Cumara is what I use. Loads up great and has enough backbone to move them when they bite.
  13. I fish 20lb braid on baitcasters. It has the diameter of 6lb and never digs in. Youre probably not putting enough tension on your line when spooling up.
  14. Order placed, thanks for the heads up!
  15. First time out since this post. They still work! This guy ripped the claws off and came back for the rest!
  16. I use an 8 foot Phenix ultra light (2-6lb) trout rod, with a shimano sedona 500 size spooled with 4 lb invisx. I didnt buy it for bluegill, but its a kick in the pants to catch nice bream on 1/32oz jig heads and 1" grubs! Ive caught many decent bass on the same rig. I bouhgt my wife a $20 American Premier 8' ultra light (2-6 lb) rod and a $25 shimano sienna 500 size, and it fishes pretty well also. She loves catching bluegill on 1" silver flake spider jigs with a pink jig head.
  17. Senkos are just not very productive for me. Ive watched all the vids, and read all the articles. I can fish a zoom finese worm, or a 4.5" robo worm the same way and catch more fish. I fish em weightless t-rigged. Ive had ONE day where they ate em, and it was any size any color. Usually I give up before I catch a fish.
  18. I used 1/16 oz. and really liked the fall rate with it. Just enough to make the claws work on the fall. It went from a faster flap on the hop, to a slow flap on the fall. I was using the regular rage craw in watermelon red flk.
  19. Someone on the T-Rigging craws thread mentioned using a weighted EWG hook on a craw. I thought that sounded great, and after reading about rage tails with their active claws, I decided to head to academy and buy some. Went to a community lake this am and it worked! They really mashed it on the sink! Just long hoppin it across the bottom. Great action on those claws!
  20. I catch fish on these doing everything from a slow and steady retrieve, to fishing it like a fluke, to fishing it like a senko. Really great baits with colors that come alive underwater. They also last a few fish most of the time. Great baits!
  21. Not a scam. My company did business with them for years when I was in SoCal. Good guys to do business with. Always paid their bills on time. I would spend my money there without hesitation.
  22. Right now in Houston its 100 every day, and I fish shallow community ponds. I go stealth fluking. 7'6" M spinning rod 12lb braid-8lb invisix leader connected via swivel Zoom Super Fluke Jr in Disco Violet or Baby Bass Gamakatsu 1/0 EWG My bigger flukes stopped drawing strikes weeks ago. I love the presentation, so I adapted until I caught fish. This is whats been working for me lately.
  23. Im a zoom finese worm guy, but a 4.5" robo in bold bluegill flatout gets em sometimes when my zooms dont.
