  1. I actually meant rigs as in set ups. My heavier set ups get 50lb, lighter setups 30. Sorry for the confusion.
  2. X2 as a swimjig trailer. They work great for me on a Siebert Swim Jig.
  3. I let the rod and application dictate leader size. I have 50lb braid on my heavier rigs and 30lb braid on my lighter rigs. I will tie up to 25lb flouro on the 50lb and up to 17 on the 30lb. Based on the application Im using it for.
  4. For the topwater/jerkbait and the crankin rod, stick with mono or flouro. Not the applications to use braid IMO. I love braid, but it isnt for everything, and those 2 situations are the 2 I dont use braid in. I use the alberto knot, and pitch ALOT with it. Ive tied it once where it hung up, and it was the flouro tag end sticking up just a bit too much. Trimmed it, and it worked fine. I use a lot of 20 lb flouro in timber, and a uni to uni does NOT go through standard guides with 20 lb flouro very well, so I learned the Alberto.
  5. I pretty much fish four colors now. Siebert 3/8 or 1/2 oz Mata Dredge Brush jigs in PBJ, Black/Blue, Sweet Craw or Summer Craw. I fish rage tail trailers in baby, Denny Brauer, Craw and Lobster to match. If theyre not eatin one of those, theyre not eatin. DX745 with CU50E (7 to 1) with a hawg handle. 50lb green izor braid, 20lb invizx. Is my #1 jig rod.
  6. Be careful, some of those shimano screw knobs are left handed threads. Thanks for the heads up JohnG! I have ony encountered the lefties....
  7. I use 3/8 a lot. For whatever reason I get more bites with it. This is fishing timber in 6 - 12 fow. I also seem to hang up less. I dont know if its because I have better contact with it or what. I hang up more 1/4 sinkers by a long shot.
  8. I was going to put a roller on the extender, but after using the pvc Im not. It slides really easy on that pvc. I didnt use a ramp. I find an area I can launch off the bank. I put the motor, and battery in the boat while on the bank and slide her in. Pulling the boat out was easy enough. The bank was maybe 2 feet high. The flat bottom slides very easily. It would be hard for one guy to do this on a ramp. Although with the wheels down, I could tie the bow to the extender and tow it to level ground easily. Ive only added 50 pounds. So without motor and battery its at 160 give or take. With the wheels down it moves around VERY easily.
  9. Heres some shots that show the bed extender and how she loads into the truck. Its easier than I ever imagined. Pretty fun little rig. I was able to take a maiden voyage, and had an absolute blast. Spent a few hours breaking in the engine, but the fishing was so good, I didnt azs much of that as I had planned! Got 30+ bass with the biggest around 5. The boat fishes bigger than I was expecting. A lot of fun to be had in this little thing!
  10. Heres a few of the finished product, if there is such a thing!
  11. Great, now I can buy all my jigs, and tungsten at the same time!
  12. In a word NO! Theyre horrid. Everyone should immediately stop bidding on them on the auction site! Especially 50E's, those reels are a hazard to the poor fishermen using them. Stop buying CU50E's before its too late!
  13. Im not sure theres a "slow down" gear change available. The core 51mg7 gear set will get you to 7:1.
  14. Id buy a couple a year Im sure.
  15. The core50 mg7 is a 7 to 1 ratio. Ive put the core gear sets in a couple of my curado 50e's. Its a nice $30 upgrade.
  16. I have three and need 6 more.... They have responded to facebook posts Ive made in the past. Try them there maybe? Also their page loads on my phone just fine. Try clearing you cache and re-typing the web address.
  17. Rage Rig T-Rig C-Rig Topwater
  18. Ive got a nice little box of them waiting in the mail box for me today. Good thing too, Tuesday I donated a full share to the timber I was fishing....
  19. I just recently spooled a crankin reel with Invizx and it feels, and casts really well. I went with it for its stretch factor and was pleasntly surprised how good it feels.
  20. Ive got 5 50e's, so I pretty much put them everything! A CU50E on a Cumara 7'2" MF rod was a really fun finesse setup for me. Im fishing a lot of timber these days, so all my Curados have at least 30lb if not 50lb braid on them. Theyre really amazing reels, that can do pretty much everything except throw massive deep divers.
  21. X2 Never broke one of these either.
  22. Thanks everyone. Tuesday Ill start breaking in the outboard, and pausing to bounce jigs off stumps.
  23. Yes its a riveted boat. I wouldnt say "expected". It has a 3 year warranty. If it starts leaking, Ill replace leaky rivets. Maybe even steelflex the bottom.
  24. Heres the fold up wheels. You can also see my DSI transducer, although its folded up for travel in the pic. Heres my little Lowrance DSI. The trolling motor brackett I made. And my MinnKota Edge 45lb thrust tm. All the wiring run to the battery box.
