  1. Your setup is fine. I always countdown to the depth I think fish are and use a Twitch-Twitch-Pause retrieve. Water clarity 3' or better otherwise I use another lure. For me: 1. Either 2. Prefer FC but mono, copoly ok. No braid for me with flukes. 3. No swivel 4. No trailer
  2. We use to throw them all the time at night after sunset when living in Florida over 20yrs ago. Love that sound and never had any issues with hookups on original hardware. At night they seem to fully commit ?
  3. TATULA SHALLOW CRANK, JERKBAIT, LIGHT TOPWATER ROD Model Number Power Action Length Feet Pieces Line Wt. (Lb.) Lure Wt. (Ounces) No. Guides TTU701MRB M R 7' 1 8 - 17 1/4 - 1 9 Not on your list but worth a look. I picked up two of these this Spring and love the actions. One I use for square bills(KVD 1.5) and medium cranks up to DT10's. The other is dedicated for Spook Jrs and Sammy 100 (excellent action for walking baits). Rods lure weight sweet spot is 3/8-1/2oz anything over feels like it's pushing it. If you prefer glass rods instead of graphite, Tatula has some in lineup that are half off at Dicks right now but I have no personal experience with those.
  4. Copper or brown for me. I fish lots of lakes with submerged timber and they help me see it best.
  5. I could put that to good use after a long day on water
  6. I've got some time flipping, pitching and casting off our deck at the house
  7. When I'm on main lake chasing schooling fish I like larger baits such as Super Spook or Mega Dawg. As fish push back into creek arms and move shallower I'll go with the smaller "JR" versions.
  8. Definitely a difference across brands. I dropshot alot for Smallmouth and have these ML rods from most liked down and they all fish different: 1- Abu Garcia IKE Signature Series 2- Fenwick Elite Tech Bass 3- Abu Garcia Vendetta gen1 4- Castaway Skeleton V2
  9. 14# Sunline Sniper is the one on most of my reels
  10. I think you'll enjoy the ML. I bought one a couple years ago for Smallmouth and now I own several for drop shot, ned rigs and hair jigs. I use my medium power rods for tubes, senkos and jerkbaits.
  11. Rattletrap Spook Swimbait Jig
  12. I use my Lews TP1 7'3" MH/M crankbait rod and it does well, I only throw 1/2oz on it. Lews does have a specific bladed jig rod 6'11" M/F in that lineup but I have no experience using that one.
  13. Same here. Haven't had but a few over the years I couldn't shake/rattle loose
  14. 12# Sniper is lowest, but use 14# the most on baitcasters. 20-30# braid with 10-14# leader on spinning.
  15. Black/Blue bladed jig tight to cover along shoreline for me seems to work
  16. I only balance my jig and Texas rig rods. I use quarters in chair leg protectors so rods balance a little tip up when I put my finger just in front of reel. To me it makes a big difference in feel. https://www.lowes.com/pl/Chair-leg-tips-Furniture-hardware-Hardware/4294711122
  17. Spook would be my first choice with rattle trap as a backup if needed in that situation
  18. None, more room for ammo would be most important to me?
  19. More vibration in dirty water gets me more bites. Also like ripping it over the top of grass on flats.
  20. https://bigbitebaits.com/product/3-5-suicide-shad-in-chartreuse-gizzard/ https://www.ownerhooks.com/product/bullet-head/ These make a good perch or bluegill imitation in clear water.
  21. Fished numerous clear water lakes in Minnesota for several months this Summer and this put more largemouths in boat than anything else. https://bigbitebaits.com/product/3-5-suicide-shad-in-chartreuse-gizzard/ https://www.ownerhooks.com/product/bullet-head/
  22. Panther Martin caught me lots of fish when living in Montana
