  1. This thing has saved me a ton of money. I keep the cord wound up on a old round baitcast reel and its easy to deal with https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-e-z-lure-retriever?hvarAID=shopping_googleproductextensions&affcode_c=&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvZ24sKfJ4gIV2bfACh1RoQ8-EAYYASABEgLRqvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  2. Regarding rods that I use for Texas rigs/Jigs. There's a huge difference in the way my GLX and Zillions transmit feel compared to a lower end rod
  3. I've got a couple Pflueger Supreme 30X that I really like.
  4. Yeah I'm going to definitely try out their 5" after using these. So far they've been good, I was worried also before purchasing
  5. That's same I would recommend close to your price range.
  6. 2018 Tatula full cork 7'1" H/fast is what I use for jigs/frogs/large texas rigs. Found mine for a little over $100
  7. My main deep plow DD22
  8. How do you like their Suicide Shad? They have some nice colors in that lineup
  9. 9yr old Zombie thread comes back to life from a disgruntled dock owner?? FWIW Barbi I never fish a dock with homeowner on it?
  10. I imagine you may be in for a surprise from your club soon ??
  11. I picked up a Lew's Tournament Pro in past from them, had best price at time.
  12. Crankbait Swimbait Swim Jig Chatterbait Spinnerbait Buzzbait Lipless cranks I use 7x and 8x ratio reels for bottom contact baits and some topwater
  13. I picked up some Cabela's 3.5" Swimbaits last time out at Bass Pro and was truly impressed with the kicking action of tail on a very slow retrieve or just letting it fall on a slack line. Using a 1/8oz. darter style head. What other "smaller size" swimbaits that take no effort to get tail kicking and heads do you guys like ?
  14. Have you ordered a Shimano during this sell ? There's a reel I really want? Thanks
  15. Got a buddy with 2 of these he's been using past few years. Hard to beat them in your price range
  16. Pflueger Supreme Spinning Reel - SUPSP30X is another solid choice in that range. I've got two and really like them. There the 30X is same size as most others 2500.
  17. Same here, I keep also keep extra for backup. I use a cheap clamp from hardware store and drill hole for scale hook
  18. Man I love it when that happens, throw in a few head shakes and you know its usually a good one?
  19. Long pants and spray with deet when on bank
  20. Gamakatsu 5/0 ewg Netbait C-Mac 11" (prefer this one due to scent) Zoom Ol' Monster 10.5" (can find almost everywhere locally when I'm out of Netbait) I usually throw them on a 7' MH/fast or 7'1" H/xfast rod. I use large worms a lot when fishing in Southeast during Summer months.
  21. I use the Trilene knot with both types of line for years and never a problem. Most important thing is to wet knot and tighten slowly
  22. I've got 2 Curado 70's on rods I mainly use for Texas rigs. Love the way they feel when palmed. Both around a year old and they cast well. One has 14# and other 16# Sunline Sniper. I throw 3/16-1/2 weights plus plastic. I did try one on a crankbait rod but didn't care for the feel of gears on a steady retrieve with crankbait
  23. Florida - Yes, most places have hard sand bottoms where we lived. Mississippi - Good luck you may not get out of most ponds/lakes Lot's O Mud??. Some creeks have nice hard bottoms. Gators never bother us as long as you give them space but water moccasins can be a problem sometimes
