  1. Don't care for it to stiff with lots of memory. I switched to InvizX which handled much better but didn't hold up well in heavy cover. Been using Sunline Sniper for a few years and it's been great. To help keep cost down I fill first part of spool with cheap mono then spool last up with 100yds Sunline.
  2. Same experience for me. I first started using Seaguar Red Label and that stuff made me buy KVD line conditioner. I changed to Seaguar InvizX and it didn't need it. Now I use Sunline Sniper and it doesn't need it either
  3. Took some 4" of these on @A-Jay recommendation and they caught me a lot of fish last Summer(great tube on a jig head). @RyneBI'm going to try your C-Rig technique, I know you pour your own but do you like any production tubes without salt and what hook or you using ? Thanks
  4. Same here or Texas rig craw(my favorite). Best time for me to catch the most and biggest fish of the year is PreSpawn. @BigAngus752My favorite way to fish is soft plastics but sometimes they just don't want a slow moving bait. That Cotton Cordell Glitter Shad you got there has also caught me a lot of fish when the jig/trig isn't working?
  5. Stained/Muddy - Junebug, Junebug Red Clear - Green Pumpkin, Pumpkin Seed Those above 90% of time I use but I've got all colors of the rainbow and more sitting around from years of buying. Funny when I look at them now, like markers in time past? Banana, Hot Pink, Electric Blue, Red Shad....etc
  6. X2. I use the Trilene knot and works well. Whatever knot you use the key is too wet and tighten very slowly. Never used P-Line but if you ever try another I highly recommend Sunline Sniper. One thing I do is spool cheap mono on for backing then I can use a 200yd spool on 2 reels to keep cost down. You'll love it for bottom contact baits
  7. I use Ebay and PayPal. Several retail stores use Ebay and theirs also reputable individual sellers, just have to be careful and its another reason I only use PayPal on Ebay. Found many great deals over the years. Regarding PayPal I prefer to use it over any other payment method on all sites.
  8. Texas Rig - Always change profiles if one isn't working and don't fish it all day if your not catching anything, try something else totally different
  9. PowerPro original for flipping/pitching cover has always done well for me. PowerPro Slick8 only used it on spinning but its been great for easier casting FWIW. Couldn't stand SpiderWire braid.
  10. FFO great place to do business with. Went above and beyond for me in past
  11. 6" curly tail worm
  12. I've done a Zoom Super Fluke on swim jig but didn't care for it and switched back to paddletails. I do like them on bladed jigs though.
  13. Same here on TRD's. Also couldn't pass up $15 Columbia Performance long sleeve
  14. Weightless Texas Rig - 5" Senko Gamakatsu 4/0 ewg Weighted Texas Rig - Netbait Baby Paca Craw Gamakatsu 4/0 ewg Shakey head - Zoom Trick Worm Megastrike Shake2 Pro ewg Drop Shot - Berkley Powerbait Pro Twitchtail Gamakatsu Split/Drop Shot #1 Wacky Rig - 5" Senko Carolina Rig - N/A? Ned Rig- Zman TRD
  15. Buddy I worked with only and I mean only fished lizards for soft plastics he didn't have anything else. Me on other hand went thru a plastic addiction for years and have enough different plastic's to fill a truck. I like Zoom 8" magnum lizzards for bedding fish and only time I use them is during spawn
  16. I really liked the older black Carbonlites, still have a couple 7'MH fast that are good all around rods. Had a 6'9" MH Xfast and 7'Medium all performed better than expected. I can't speak for new one's
  17. Thanks for links appreciate it. Smallmouth definitely are a lot of fun. Amazing what aggressive topwater feeders they are and will be nice change from educated trout waters We had a great time with conventional gear last year and look forward to this Summer on the fly
  18. I use a clear plastic storage tote that is just tall enough that I can keep plastics in original bags and stand them up and no wider than necessary. Its also as long as possible that will let me pull it out of main tackle storage compartment on front deck without trouble. Baits I use the most of are put in 1 gal freezer bags and kept separate so I have fast, easy access to them. I fish a lot of different lakes so I switch out plastics based on that.
  19. Bladed Jig/Chatterbait in black
  20. Nope not many Browns near where we lived. Mostly fished for rainbows and Westslope cutthroat in smaller streams ouside Lincoln, MT. Lots of Bead Head Prince nymphs, Hare's Ear, Yellow Humpys, Royal Coachman and my favorite... hoppers in August Fished the Missouri lots outside of Helena but that was mostly with spinners and Rapalas for big Bows.
  21. Tremendously !! Yep I've also got a 4wt so an 8wt would round me out on the top end☺️ Thanks much
  22. Great info, could you recommend some specific topwaters you like and size/color also what leader length/tippet size/kind you like for topwater, a 6wt with WF floating line. Lake is clear with 15' visibility, smallmouth average 3# and love topwater walking baits like a Sammy100. No weeds all large rock located near Boundary Waters in Minnesota. Going back Summer and bringing my trout rod. My flies are for fishing mostly smaller streams when we lived in Montana so I don't know how big I can throw for topwater, rod is a 9' Orvis Clearwater 6wt. Really appreciate your advice
