  1. War Eagle spinnerbaits $2.99 ? just loaded up Bomber Cranks $2.66 Norman NXS Cranks $2.31 https://www.overstockbait.com/?utm_campaign=bing_branded&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=bing&msclkid=b891832de9ab10ec0858df2d9016a8a0
  2. Thanks I just picked up last ZIL661 for $121. Should make a great light trig, tube and shakey head rod.
  3. Trilene Knot has worked well for me over many years and no trouble. Whatever knot you use wet well and tighten up slowly is key with fluorocarbon. I started with Red Label then Invizx and ended up with Sunline Sniper but that's another thread?
  4. I only use Braid/Fluoro on my dropshot spinning setups. Straight Fluorocarbon on Texas Rig, Jigs and Crankbaits. Straight Braid with Frogs mostly and sometimes Mono. Mono with rattletraps, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits and most topwater. FWIW my neighbor uses Berkley Big Game and catches just as many fish as I do ?
  5. I can see your ready to use that new Fury? Come on Spring !!
  6. Jig worked around edge of channel swings for me
  7. Academy has some crazy clearance sales in-store
  8. Great looking gills
  9. As most others already stated I use white(baitfish color) in clear water and black/blue in stained. Great thing is replacement skirts are cheap and easy quick change same as with swim jigs/spinnerbaits, I use a bluegill color skirt in some places where the fish relate to them more than shad.
  10. Great Fish !!
  11. Had a guy recommend same to a friend at boat ramp and it worked like a charm to everyones amazement
  12. Same here, had a fishing partner that always wanted to be there at daylight in Winter... "Had"??
  13. Same here. I use 14# for T-Rigs, Jigs and Crankbaits. Holds up well around wood which my home lake is full of. I use the Trilene Knot and never have any trouble (just wet and cinch slowly). Not trying to start a debate but I started with Red Label and it had too much memory for me and then InvizX which had great casting with less memory but too many line breaks in heavy cover.
  14. Have a chance to pick one up on sale. Any recommendations from people that have one would be appreciated. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-CASTAWAYRD.html?from=basres Thanks
  15. Spent 2 months in Minnesota this Summer fishing. First thing i noticed about smallmouth is they never give up compared to largemouth even after getting in boat, trying to get a treblehook out of them is always an adventure. I fish lots of texas rig soft plastics for largemouth and noticed when fishing tubes for smallmouth they seldom hammer it like largemouth usually do. Fished only lakes no rivers, also noticed was way more largemouth in South get airborne than the smallies which really surprised me from what I had heard. Best thing about smallmouth to me is how aggresive they are if you put a topwater around them. I wore out a LC Sammy on them 80% of the time no matter time of day? Can't wait to get North again!!
  16. Got a neighbor and he catches just as many fish using a Ugly Stick and Berkley Big Game as I do on a Loomis GLX with Sunline fluorocarbon ?
  17. Cranks,Spooks,Traps OH!my its what Fall's about for me?
  18. Youngest daughter moved out to attend college several years ago. First thing I did was get sad and then immediately started moving tackle into her room?? Seriously best thing was to buy totes at walmart and organize ex: topwaters, deep cranks, shallow cranks, med cranks. Soft plastics-craws,worms,frogs,flukes all labeled and put in exlarge ziplock bags. In boat everything is labebled and i just switch plano boxes and plastics depending on what lakes i ll be fishing
  19. Curado 70 with (older version)GLX BCR803 great t-rig setup
  20. 3 days in a row bass schooling like crazy, weather stable no changes on 4th day except I brought wife to catch some and it was like the dead sea out there? not a bass in sight
  21. None left in our area anymore. Spent the Summer in a small rural MN town that still has one with great owners...sad to see them disappearing
  22. Being left handed i cast with that hand and reel with right, never understood why all my right handed friends did the cast/switch thing. Funny thing is when i use fly or spinning gear im more comfortable casting with my right and keep rod there during retrieve....go figure?
