  1. http://www.sportsmansoutfitters.com/lews-tournament-pro-baitcast-fishing-reels/?fullSite=1 Love my Lews TP. I'll be changing all over as money allows. I got mine from Sportsmans Outfitters ebay store $150 shipped priority mail. Great people to deal with.
  2. http://www.stickjacket.com/Web/Home.php Been using these rod covers and really like them. Good selection of styles
  3. Regarding Navionic WebApps is it possible to see the lat/lon of areas with the Free maps?
  4. We fish a 200ac. lake that has about a 10ac. section we call "Golden Pond" its the only place in lake that has bass with that color on them. Happens spring-fall.
  5. You can buy different skirts for them also spinnerbait skirts work.
  6. Dont give up on them. For me i fish water with a clarity of 1-2'. I have better luck on a blue/black color and i use a Havoc grass pig trailer with 1"cut off. I do best when the wind is breaking water surface. Do well fishing them on grass flats,i do just like when fishing a trap tick the top of weeds, pause for a second and rip it back out. Also like using them after a rain close to bank and cover.
  7. I checked these out in store friday and they caught my intrest forsure, seem very well made. I look foward to hearing some comparisons against other rods as far as sensitivity, balance and weight goes.
  8. I know for me a 7'MH fast has been that.I just added another Carbonlite in that size to match my other one. I throw chatterbaits, swim jigs, football jigs, spinnerbaits, large t-rigs,etc...great multi purpose rod
  9. Ive got a 6'9"MH xfast(great t-rig rod)and a 7'MH fast both over 2yrs old and no problems. Lots of fish on them and the 6'9" caught my PB last June. I just added another 7'MH fast yesterday, great multi- purpose rod. All mine are regular guides. Sorry to hear you had trouble Chief 2
  10. Never push on dead trees in lake!! I learned this the hard way a couple of winters ago by taking a cold swim.
  11. Welcome!! I remember back to those days with a 2 pc. spinning reel and beetle spins and hiting every lake I could get my bike too. Anyways for a baitcaster id say Abu Garcia silvermax 6.4:1 with a Berkley Lightning rod 6'6" or 7' MH with fast action. 10lb. Seaguar red label or Berkley 100% fluorocarbon line.Best advise on baits is learn how to texas rig a worm and get in the habit of palming your reel and let your index finger sit in front of reel with line resting on top of your finger and keep slack tight so you can feel bite. Small ponds and lakes with good water clarity give 6"-7.5" worms a try in pumpkinseed or green pumpkin color(if water clarity is less than 2' id use junebug or junebug red) with 3/16.oz weight and 3/0-4/0 hook a try
  12. Same here. All my friends are right handed and 99% of them cast right and retrieve right ,i don't get changing hands. FWIW when I use spinning or fly rod I use right hand cast and retrieve left
  13. I had one of my best days before a rain. Most times during actual storm i notice no change
  14. i fish alot of stumps below the waterline and brown has been best for me also.
  15. Anyway to tell what gen the rod is? Local shop has a closeout rack full of these.
  16. Nothing has changed here...ha!!
  17. www.***.com/Gamakatsu_Superline_EWG_Weighted_Hook_5pk/descpage-GSEGW.html I use these with swimbaits and flukes. Rig like Wbeadlescomb said and your good to go. Most walmarts have them down here.
  18. Thanks guys i'll be picking some up. I caught alot fish on chatterbaits last year and this sounds like a great option to them in same conditions.
  19. Pearl,MS store is same way. I've got family close and visit that location often. Great guys in fishing dept. They always come over when im shopping to say hi and see how its going.
  20. Hungup on someones fishing line went over and started to cut it then noticed a rod reel(KVD and Berkley Lighting)on other end. Took it home cleaned up reel and one of the best i got now. Rod going to trade-in at BPS friday. Worse thing i ever caught was a goose. Threw lure out and line got pushed over by wind right on top of it. NEVER will i cast anywhere near another bird!!!
  21. Getting to the lake with a plan and seeing someone else working that spot first or pull up beside me when im on it---ha!
  22. Hi guys Ya'll got my intrest in these now. How well do they work around wood cover regarding hangups?
  23. FWIWI picked up the same jacket last weekend and called the company. Come to find out there is a date stamped on the yellow bobbin inside the mechanism that needs to be within 3yrs. of date not the C02 cylinder date as i was first told. Now i gota wear it !!
