  1. X2 i have done this for a few rods and nice change.
  2. I believe in idle only or nothing at all. Never could understand getting waked all day my 14'rs and then not being allowed to crank mine and load trailer.
  3. http://seaguar.com/seaguar-community/seaguar-knot.htm Might give this a try. I use it for a double fluke rig. Adjust length to what you need. Use main line for hook and leader for weight. As stated earlier line twist can be issue,to help let out slowly and reel up slow.
  4. Yep its a shame i noticed they listed for BPS brands but no others...sad
  5. I really like bladed swim jigs except around wood. Anybody using them around wood cover? Any better or still lots of hangups? Thanks http://www.***.com/Strike_King_Tour_Grade_Rage_Blade_Swim_Jig/descpage-SKTGRB.html
  6. Been using that reel for 3yrs. on my dropshot, still smooth and no problems. I'll have to swing by wally this week.
  7. Very small drainage ditch in a large city between 2 shopping malls. 90% of time i catch several fish there.
  8. Thanks to all of you!! I ended up with a older model BCR803 GLX on closeout i found at local shop for $263. Its on another level from anything else i own.
  9. X3 great reels and you can find them in rod combos if you wish for $80.
  10. Which to you is more sensitive rod for t-rigs and not compare price. Thanks guys
  11. Local shop has 1 of the older models on closeout for $263. I was wondering about the recoil guides on them. I ll be using 12# fluorocarbon and it will be a light T-rig rod. Reviews for rod look great but recoils i dont know if problem is just braid or all lines. Thanks
  12. Hi guys Rod will be used with 3/16-1/2oz T-rigs. Wife got me a gift card at Bass Pro and Ive got the following rods coming to store so i will be able to check them out this weekend, been using a Carbonlite 6'9"MH Xfast and love it. Thanks for your help deciding between the following: St.Croix LTB 6'8" M XFast 6'8" MH Fast G.Loomis IMX 7' MH Fast Falcon Cara T7 6'7"MH XFast 6'6" MH Fast
  13. X2 on the Carbonlites. I've got a 6'9" MH xfast for t-rigs and a 7'MH fast for jigs and large cranks.
  14. J knot has been working well for me. I started out with the Uni-Uni then Seaguar onto Albright but the J was strongest for me. Alberto has a big following but I never could tie it fast on boat and get it right never tested it for strength so cant compare.
  15. https://m.basspro.com/EZ-Lure-Retriever/product/44428/ This one has saved me a bunch of $$$$. I fish a lot of Poes cranks at $10 each and this allows me to not worry. Over 2 years and only a couple times i couldnt get one back. I also used them on jigs and shakey heads. Only thing I would spend $5 more and get the one that has a reel to store line.
  16. I fish a 200ac. lake and they drop level 6' every Winter to help control Water Hyacinth.
  17. Small lake by the house had a old garbage can i would always throw at every trip but never a strike. Finally after about a year sure enough one was at home, felt like i won the lottery--HA! Another day i saw a couple guys fishing a ditch between Walmart and Best Buy thinking to myself what a waste of time, next thing you know one has a bass on. I started fishing there after that and it still puts out fish to this day.Made me think different about "urban fishing"
  18. Cold fronts the day before i go fishing. Having someone pull up and start fishing beside me or friends motor up to talk.
  19. Very nice and i bet very old fish to get that big in Maine Congrats!!
  20. Fishing a fluke along a stump row. Clarity about 3' deep made a couple of jerks then paused it and saw what looked like a five gallon bucket come from below my bait and put a shark attack on my fluke. Fish dove back down and snap went the line around the stump. All i did was yell Noooooo! will never forget that fish.
  21. Hung up my t -rig on some old fishing line went over and just before i cut it noticed a rod tip. Ended up being a KVD reel with berkley rod. Took it home spent 3hrs clean and lube. Been on the deck ever since
  22. 6'6" M/fast tip for 1/4.oz and under. 7' MH/fast tip if your fishing mostly 3/8.oz lures and up. I like a 2500 size reel and 10# line with both setups.
  23. Same here. My regular partner always wants to keep going at dawn so we each take seperate boats and dont fish together until Feb.
