  1. When i lived in Montana before learning to fly fish for trout i used Panther Martin spinners in black body with yellow dots. Gold blade on cloudy day and silver on sunny. As far as trebles you can cut 2 hook points off and be legal thats what i did on streams with that rule. When river or creek fishing i always throw up current work lure back then let lure go past me and swing back toward shore, caught several fish in the swing part on big rivers but small or slow water i dont let it go past me. Another option is go by local fly shop and get a clear casting bubble and have them tell you a couple of flies for the water you will be fishing. Line and rod are going to depend on size of fish,5'6"UL-7'M with 6-10# test. Good luck...
  2. Relocated out of state 20+yrs ago. One birthday i received a package from my Mom and there they were Banjo Minnow!! I actually found them this spring with some tackle and sure enough caught fish on it.Brought back great memories of days past.
  3. I'll add when checking dont limit it to a few inches around lure make sure to go several feet up line.
  4. I like them in certain conditions like 2' or less water clarity, dusk or when theres a windy day. I use a havoc grass pig as trailer with about 1"cut off. As stated above black/blue is my most productive. Also do well ripping out of grass on flats like a lipless crank.
  5. Same here. Comes in real handy when i run out of a certain one they are after and im out of new ones.
  6. Sunrise for me Spring-Fall my biggest fish and a couple of partners all before 9am fwiw. In Winter im waiting till noon

  10. Too funny!! I'm in the same boat. Also my flyrods just like spinning have to be right. But my baitcasters have to cast left or disaster
  11. I use Bass Pro brand grip master w/scale and no problems. My partner uses a lip gripper also from Berkley w/digital scale and its nice.

  13. Thank you Glenn and to our Mods for a great site and place to share !!! I look foward everyday to logging on.
  14. When i lived in Florida Lake Jackson had a bunch in one part of lake i knew we could always salvage a day. Just take the brightest spinnerbait i could find and look out. A lip gripper and long needle nose sure help. Musky fisherman have a tool that would work even better to keep mouth open
  15. Hows mid depth running cranks and squarebills on this one? Able to rip through grass ok? Idea of weight and balance ? Thanks for help
  16. When starting at daylight i like a spook or pop'r. If its been raining and water dirty or windy i pickup a chatterbait.
  17. Friday/Sat. till noon or dark depending on bite. Sundays during spawn...otherwise with family. Will go after work also a few times a month if partner(retired) calls and bite is hot.
  18. Love my Carbonlite 6'9"MH xfast great t-rig rod. Also have 2 Carbonlite 7' MH fast which make good all purpose rods--swim jigs, chatterbaits, traps spinnerbaits,etc.....
  19. Same for me i use to use it on red label but after switching to InvizX i quit. Also i really like 12#. Make sure you wet the heck out of your knot and draw tight slowly. I use the Trilene knot and no issues.
