  1. Left-hand retrieve is great, give it a shot.
  2. If you would like a Tatula with a micro-click tension knob, buy the new Zillion.
  3. Yes, 7'1" MHF. 3/8 oz +trailer, both swimming and dragging.
  4. Looks like a swimbait. Throw a couple 2/0 Owners on that and let's get fishin!
  5. Don't worry, winter's almost over. Soon enough it will be Summer and we'll have two new frogging threads every day.
  6. I'm going to be living vicariously through you guys with the Alphas SV for a while. My girlfriend is lucky that I love her more than the Alphas platform. Now, if another LH I'ze Personal comes up, I might be single.
  7. I would be trying to talk you into a rep sample NRX 894 for those duties. For bottom contact in deeper water, the extra length is a good thing. Alternatively, I'd consider the X4 Destruction. If you're set on the XX line, certainly call Gary as others have advised. He's a really nice guy.
  8. 15 lb Grand Slam is a little thick. I'd just throw 12 lb mono. If you neeeed to get your cranks deeper, downsize. The "float" of mono won't counteract the crank depth but the line diameter will offer some slight resistance.
  9. If you get in touch with Mike @ Siebert Outdoors, chances are he can make you exactly what you need.
  10. The bullet, swim, and punch heads are all great when weeds are a factor. I drag a 1/2 oz punch jig through grass and swim it in pads. Also, wire tied is the best 25 cents you'll ever spend.
  11. Yar. The price is up and the quality is meh. $12 for a BX Minnow? May as well buy a Duo or Lucky Craft.
  12. 7" M.S. Slammer. Hand crafted and only slightly above your price range.
  13. I wonder if they and Dick's will end up sharing a rewards system.
  14. Alternatives? Lots. Anything strictly better? Not really. It doesn't hurt to try new things. I tried the blue/green Sunline and I like it for some techniques.
  15. A bigger canoe sounds good. I want as much room between me and the girlfriend as possible. Last year I had a 1/4 oz tungsten dropshot weight nick the side of my glasses while we were sharing a little jon boat. She's got a lot of enthusiasm but a bit short on accuracy.
  16. Get yourself a Lucky Craft Gunfish. If your bass don't hit that, they dead.
  17. I go fishing with a younger guy that I met on this forum, which is good. Then again, I convince him that he needs Megabass stuff, which is bad.
  18. If you wanna make things very simple, you only neeeeeed the following as a bank angler: -lipless crankbait -soft plastic swimbait, like a Keitech Fat -big worm in a confidence color -little worm in a confidence color -jig/trailer combination that makes sense for the waters you fish -chatter or spinnerbait -hollow-body frog -noisy topwater Throw some terminal tackle and you're good to go. Of course, that's only what you need. You're certainly allowed to want more.
  19. Check Amazon too. Crazy prices occasionally. I bought a Tatula rod that I don't need there, but it was $89 so that's okay.
  20. I'm glad Suh will be getting penalty flags and suspensions somewhere else next year. Poor Aaron Rodgers was sick of getting stepped on every Thanksgiving.
  21. Hello from Oakland County. Maybe we'll have soft water by April!
