  1. Team daiwa rods are excellent
  2. Boater should be charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter
  3. My dad mentioned that he wants to take a trip to lake fork and I was hoping if yall could help me bring his wish to fruition. We will surely use a guide but I was wondering who/what service and when is the best time to go?
  4. My local tackle shop dumped Powerpro for mccoy...I'm going to buy some for backing.
  5. Saw a couple videos from icast on these but can't find much info on them. Looks like daiwa is replacing team t rod with s. I like the color, unsanded finish, and the price. Anyone have any info on these rods or release date?
  6. Finally found a spool of 65 pound and spooled it up and used it this evening. There isn't much info online about this line but wanted to see what seaguar could come up with. I've only ever used Powerpro and briefly sunline fx2 and smackdown is smoother and quieter than both of those. Casts effortlessly and resists digging in. 65# PP would always dig in even after a small bass...no such issue with smackdown. Seems to be strong but haven't hauled any large bass out of grass or trees yet. Some color rubbed off onto my finger as I spooled...but not even close to the powdering I received from spooling FX2. Sure it is expensive and a pain to find...but braid can lasts you years...might as well spend a few more bucks on a quality line
  7. I'm on a similar journey, tiller. I'm in the 150 dollars or less market. Okuma tcs, daiwa tatula, fenwick, Powell max are all rods I'm looking into for medium cranking. I'm looking for a MH rod as some of those cranks can be nearly 3/4 oz.
  8. If you were under water and someone reeled a firetiger crank by you, you'd see a blur of green, stripes, and a flash of orangish red. That could be nearly any fish species.
  9. I've used invizx and it is stretchy. I've also used red label and sunline shooter and shooter is much better. I appreciate it's slight give when cranking and it's ability to slide over and and not dig into timber like braid can. One thing I plan to do do is back my FC setups with braid to decrease spool weight and decrease amount of FC line that can overrun.
  10. Good trailer but are expensive. There are other options that work just as good if not better for less.
  11. Are you saying you put don't your flipping rod and pick up a pitching rod when you need to hit a further target, or are you saying there is so much cover you never have to pitch? Either way I'd go lightweight and comfortable.
  12. I use San Diego jam and never have a problem with action on frogs or cranks. *shrug* Loop/rapala knot is strong and may aid the action....it's just a bit tedious for me to tie.
  13. I'm just trying to find something that would put one rod in the lead. So far I've eliminated glass and am leaning TCS as I can get it for less than 100 as others are 150. Although I'm a daiwa fan boy. If tcs was 150 then I'd go tatula.
  14. Yea. But fenwick and tatula are 8 guides. 7 foot tcs is 9
  15. New fenwick elite, okuma tcs, and tatula both glass and graphite. Can get the tcs for <$100
  16. Got a couple questions as nowhere around here has any of the rods I'm looking at. One rod I'm looking at doesn't have an exposed blank at reel seat but instead a tacky rubber cork. Does it make a difference when cranking? I imagine exposed is better for jigs trigs etc. Full reel seat grip and comfortable grip might be nice for cranking all day. Another rod has an extra guide...does it make a difference really? Another is glass...will it really have more give than a quality moderate/moderate fast graphite? Is the difference in weight actually noticeable?
  17. Was also looking at lucky crafts glass crankers
  18. Never had an issue with mine
  19. I've really gotten into cranking this year and now I want a medium heavy ~7 foot rod. Problem is there are so many! Budget is max 150. Was looking at okuma tcs, Powell max (lightweight), Fenwick but I fear it's all cork no blank, and new tatula cranking. Any thoughts or suggestions?
  20. Okuma has several rods that fit the bill
  21. I get better hand placement and grip on rear split grip when making roll casts. Otherwise I don't care. I probably prefer split if I had to choose
  22. I will if I'm pitching wood. Braid digs in and fluoro seems to hang on branches less. It also allows the lure to fall better and transmits much more on slack line than braid. I use Albright knot.
  23. This If you want to sell I'd be interested
  24. You don't fish his dock. You fish the water under it...The water and the fish you pay every year to access.
  25. At the beach and went to a tackle shop and saw a large assortment of spro hair jigs. Are these similar to the ones at the chic'? If I get one, what weight and how do you work them?
