  1. I have on both accounts. Flik fishing tool runs over 100 on ebay and most tool suggestions are either discontinued or are not angling specific.
  2. If someone paid me 20 bucks for painting a crankbait, I would sell them too! Has nothing to do with creating a "better" lure
  3. Made a nice profit! Going to reinvest it into other gear?
  4. My C. Rod is actually okuma tcs. I'm just worried that the H would be underpowered because the MH fishes like a medium. I do already have it on Amazon wishlist though. I also really like daiwa products and wanted to try to consolidate my gear to Daiwa.
  5. Did you have it on ebay? I think I saw it yesterday

I'm looking for a sub $100 multitool for fishing with needlenose pliers. Gerber no longer makes the flik fisherman, the hook sharpener and braid cutters would have been nice. Anyone have any suggestions?
  7. My dad just got one and I'm curious what cheapish modifications you can do with her. She is practically stock. I know rod lock is very short and only good for paddles and telescoping push poles. Is it easy to remove middle seat too make it easier to step up/down to back deck?
  8. 1. Smack her in the face with a swimjig (not crank or spinnerbait as she will spook) 2. Downsize and put something in front of her but not too close. Weightless trig or shakey head perhaps.
  9. My father just got his first bass boat and it allows me to carry more setups and I'm itching to expand my arsenal. Currently I have 3 baitcasters A. 7'3" xfast H 1.5 oz B. 7' fast MH for up to 1.25 oz C. 7' modfast M for 5/8 oz. I'm thinking a spinning rod is up next. I've had some success with shakey on BC and it is effective with WV bass. I was thinking a 6'10" rod with xfast action for 1/8 oz and up as my smallest shakey is 1/8oz. I like the new daiwa s rods but they have either 6'6" or 7' and rated for 1/4oz. I doubt it would overpower the 1/8 oz but I'm not sure. Also I'm considering another H rod. Daiwa s has a 7'4" H rated for 2 oz (should handle 1.5oz black dog g2 better than my current heavy) and it has a fast action which will help play fish. I've also read where people punch a lot with fast action instead of xfast. Last weekend I was punching and ripped bait out of 4 fish mouth before hook up with xfast rod not sure if it was my technique or the rod. If I go this route my current H would make perfect frog rod. Thoughts and comments are appreciated. Brand/model recommendation (under $150) is also welcome.
  10. I have the shellcracker g2 and I throw it on a 7'3" heavy xfast with 65 pound braid. 1. I can dive it deeper due to thin line diameter. 2. I can rip it out of weeds easier (boom!) 3. Loosen your drag and really play them to the boat....haven't lost one yet. 4. I roll cast nice and easy. Overhead cast is too wippy and plunks the water too loud!
  11. I have a few xcalibur, but I am a huge spro fan and thinking of swapping. I have already traded my xcal crankbaits for spro johns. The hooks alone make the aruku more attractive than most lipless
  12. Smack her on the ass when she gets a bite, that should help.
  13. Anyone know where I can get one like the Japanese model tatula? Would hawgtech anodize it for me?
  14. Adds flare and bulk. Start without one then add one if you need it
  15. Sounds like some people use too much hand sanitizer.
  16. If you are throwing 1/4 ounce you need a medium rod. A medium heavy is too powerful. You will need to find one with fast action though which can be tricky as most medium powers have moderate action for crankbaits.
  17. I just got a pack of the football head fastach. Being able to swap out hooks makes so much more sense than buying swinghead jigs with hooks welded on. Bend one hook and you have to buy a whole new setup. Think KVD used these at toledo bend.
  18. You will strain the s rod with that weight. May I suggest the okuma tcs rod...the 7'3" h is rated for 2oz and has a fast action...can be had for under 100 dollars. 2 oz may strain it though
  19. I have never seen a gold bass
  20. Is this it? http://www.toylure.com/shop/img/R-494-6.jpg Reading stuff online...These rods were only produced for a year and are very rare. They sell on ebay for hundreds of dollars. You could probably sell it for 100 at least.
  21. I'm upgrading my tat7:1 to type r 8:1. I power fish and being able to bring back my jig without it skipping across the water too much is a benefit
  22. My father's old "fishin buddy" died after many years of service and we are looking to upgrade. He has a 10 foot bass raider (not prewired). Would it be difficult to mount the 718 and is it too large for the bass raider? The price is good as it's only 25 or so more than humminbird's lowest model "fishin buddy".
  23. http://www.***.com/Daiwa_S_Casting_Rods/descpage-DSRS.html Looks good. Have a couple I got my eye on. Wish they had some slower tapers...maybe next year.

As others said...spinnerbait is loud and flashy and everyone throws em. Swimjig is like a ninja, stealthy and dangerous. Plus you can use it like a flipping jig
  25. The lakes I fish don't have shad. So I use green pumpkin and bream colors. No need to over think it, any combination of those works well. Wouldn't mind getting black and blue but that's more of a flipping jig color. Trailers? I've been bouncing back and forth. I prefer boot tail but caught this year's best bass on a rage bug...lots of vibration and large profile. But that doesn't mean a menace or swimsenko wouldn't have caught that bass, so use what you feel confident in. I prefer something durable with decent action that I can get a good deal on...spending $7 or 8 for swim senkos just isn't worth it as a trailer.
