We went to Jacksonville. Slow today but we got hooked into some absolute pigs though. One guy was nearly on plane and caused us and some kayakers issues in the no wake zone but other than that it was great.

As for the G2 shellcracker...I use heavy fluoro and I experiment with waking it very slowly on top and cranking it down and putting rod tip in water and smacking into brush and logs. It won't get hung up. The twitching retrieves doesn't work that we'll with g2 imo...I suggest you keep it moving.

I'll be going there Saturday for first time, with my dad in his bass raider and wanted to know if anyone knows of any good coves for this small craft that would have minimal pleasure boaters/pressure. Want to make sure my dad's first trip here is as positive as possible. Thanks for any help.

Trim at an angle at barb. Never had hookup issues trimming (there is a sex reference in there I'm sure of it)

Only time trailer won't match jig is if I'm out of matching colors or not getting bit.

Let me throw this out there. Is it fair to keep people who are not capable of paddling, out of tournaments when there is the mirage drive? I'm young adult but have a bad shoulder and paddling kills me and I'm very fit. I will not buy a kayak unless I get a TM or a hobie.

Oakley offshoot. Designed for big heads and blocking out sun. Polarized are 190 but I got mine as a gift and love them. Nothing worse than a headache from small sunglasses pinching your skull but having to keep them on to fish properly.

The 7'3" really Intrigues me for punching. 7'11" won't fit in my truck.

Does it make difference if it is fair or good? All I see is a respectable score for an underdog.

How many average Joes are going to clean the grease out? Maybe one in ten? Reel should be tested stock.

They scored the d**n reel at 7 out of 10.... And you all say it isn't fair and they under value it? Very few of their reviewed products hit 8/10 or above...and the ones that do win awards. If it scored in the fives I'd say you might have a point. But a budget, big box store, generic reel scored an average score when the expectations for those types of reels by consumers is that they are subpar (even junk). I'd say their review is right on point with everything I read about it on this forum.

I typically match colors but have also heard that when punching and pitching that two colored plastics are effective when jigging them as the color flashes. Was thinking a different color skirt could have same effect

How do you control it? Tell your parents to stop giving you money. That should fix it. But seriously start applying for the new cabelas, most who work there have limited sporting knowledge. You'll be a step ahead and you get discounts.

When you use punch skirts, what colors do you prefer? Do you prefer to match your soft plastic? Do you like to match your plastic but have a few strands that stand out? Do you prefer a skirt that is different shade/color entirely?
