  1. My wifes uncle refuses to tie baits on until he is in his boat looking at the current conditions. He said it makes him think through location and presentation before he is sucked in by fishing memories. Might take a couple minutes longer, but he's retired and on the lake 5 days a week....he's in no hurry ha
  2. Spinnerbait...covers every depth, changes speeds. Does a little of everything....that gives me confidence.
  3. XCailbur One Knocker- Pearl Melon XCalibur XR50 - Royal Shad Red Eye Shad - Sexy Shad
  4. I always start with a search bait. Our water is pretty murky in these parts so i like to start with either somethin loud or flashy. Lipless cranks and Spinners are my go to, Id love to throw a spook more often but the gators down here seem to be quite attracted to topwater lures. After I have found the fish I will usually slow it down somewhat with a jig or senko.
  5. The bats go crazy flying around right before night time here in sc. Ive alctually had one drop down and grab my zara spook off the surface. He let go pretty quick thankfully, I wouldnt have a clue how to get a hook out of a mad bat. lol
  6. Depends on if the reds are biting. Bass fishing is more fun as far as being a puzzle tho. But I love catchin a bunch of redfish and havin a good dinner too, just usually have to spend so much on gas to hit all the spots in a day.
  7. I help manage 18 pretty big ponds on a plantation where we run fishing activities for the members. I would say anything over 8 pounds could be mounted, but last year a rival of mine caught one 10 pounds 2 ounces and thats the record so far in the community....so I think my pride is gonna make me wait until i have found one that is 10 pounds 3 ounces or better
  8. honestly the places i fish i feel good about everything...except topwaters either the gators follow them or i get frustrated before i tie on somethin else

  15. Ive been very lucky to be able to work in an environment full of experienced fisherman and captains excited to pass on their knowledge. I would say these guys could take all the credit for my fishing abilities.
  16. I always make sure to drop them vertically into deep enough water. I feel bad if i toss one and he hits his side like a belly flop. I work with pond preservation at our Outfitters Center, so I always try to respect the fish within reason.
  17. Thats so awesome! I write fishing reports for the Outfitters center i work at and do seminars but would love to write actual fishing instruction articles. Good for you man! Im jealous.

  23. If that lady that works on Major League Fishing had her own show id watch it.....she wouldnt even have to catch fish. I wouldnt mind lookin at her in a boat for 30 minutes!
  24. The bass down here in the lowcountry taste murky...grosses me out. But thankfully we live on the coast and have some of the best saltwater eating in the area.....redfish, trout, sheepshead. I feel like the saltwater gives it a good marinade ha
