Plastics - Hooks and Weights?
All right, I need some help on my terminal tackle. I normally fish all of my plastics on 2/0 and 3/0 Gammy EWG hooks and 1/8 oz bullet weights. This is because I'm not very good when it comes to hooks and weights. I would like to know what types and sizes of hooks you use on your plastics. Also I would like to if you fish them weightless or with a weight. If you do fish them with a weight what size? I realize everyone's answers may differ, but I need all the help I can get! I will list the plastics I use most often use and everyone can add more if they want. 7" Ribbontail Worm 5" Senko 6" Senko 6" Lizard 6" Bungee Worm 4" Tubes 4" Frog 4.5 " Bush Hog (brush hog) 6" Bush Hog (brush hog) 5" Double Tail Grub 4" Craw

Yo Zuri Ultra Soft
Would the line work good for crankbaits and swimbaits too?

Yo Zuri Ultra Soft
Im going to spool this on my rigs this year but had a couple questions. Im going to be using 8lb for spinning and 12lb for casting. Do you just spool this straight onto the spool or use a backing? Also what knot do you use with this line? Thanks, Paul

7.0:1 burner reel
Would it be helpful for fishing in places with alot of cover so you can reel the fish in faster before it can get down in the cover? I have a lake i fish alot that has alot of vegitation in it so i was thinking maybe a burner reel would be good for this. Maybe im thinking wrong though?

7.0:1 burner reel
Im just curious to see everyones opinions on the burner reels over the 6.3:1 reels. What do you use them for? Is there more advantages to them to certain types of fishing? Any info will be helpful beings that i am thinking about buying one. Thanks Paul

Illinois River Asian Carp Fiasco
I dont know if anyone knows where Bath, IL is but its a small town right off the Illinois River. There is a shoot that cuts off the river that will take you to Bath and there is a bar right on the river thats called the floating tavern. It doesnt float anymore but use to. Anyways back on topic, they have what they call a redneck fishing tournement. I believe they do this once a month. Pretty much its a bunch of rednecks running there boats down this Bath Shoot stirrin all the fish up and making them jump in the air. The object is to get as many fish in the boat as they can by any means except guns in the given time limit. Its actually quite the thing to see and a really good time to watch.

There is no where around here that carries this reel so i just wanted some opinions from people who use it for crankbaits. thanks still wondering where my original post went... :-?

BPS Classic Reel Trade - In
Im going to be going to bps during the classic on the day of the reel trade in and i have a few questions. Do they do this at all the bps stores or just certain ones? Also i know that they give you rebates on reels for your trade ins and the rebate depends on how much the new reel is. But my question is are you only allowed one rebate per reel or if you were to bring 2 or 3 reels in can you use them all on one new reel? Also do they have to be certain reels like baitcaster for baitcaster? thanks

quantum reels
Thanks everyone!!! The reason i asked the question was because last year was the first year that i used a baitcaster and it was one of those cheaper accurists you could buy at walmart for like $40 and it actually treated me pretty good. But after extensive use the gears or something wore out because sometimes the handle would spin a couple times before the spool would turn. I liked the reel though so thats really why i was askin about the Quantum Code. I am going to BPS in Bolingbrook, IL next month thought so i will just take everyones suggestion on just trying all the reels out. What do i need to look for in a good quality baitcaster? Thanks again!!!

quantum reels
do you have any opinions on the reel i posted above, the quantum code? or is that what you were getting at with the you get what you pay for?

quantum reels
Im not trying to stir the pot or anything but i was just curious as to why there isn't very many posts about quantum baitcastes or any of their reels...are they not very good? Im just curious because i am in the process of upgrading to a mid level baitcaster i was looking at the new quantum code... http://www.quantumfishing.com/fwreels/code_baitcast.html Im no expert on baitcasters at all but i thought it looked pretty good for $80...maybe i am wrong? Just trying to get everyones opinion. Thanks!

yo-zuri hybrid
Im going to give yo-zuri hybrid line a try on a couple of my rigs this year. Im going put some 8lb test on a spinning rig and 12lb on a baitcasting rig. My question is should i go with the ultra soft on the spinning reel? Also for those that use this line which knot works the best for tying to hooks and lures? Thanks

new spinnerbait set up question
Well i think im going to scratch the braid idea. After browsing through the site i think im going to go with fluorocarbon and give the Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon a try. Also if i bump the rod up to MH could it be used both as a spinnerbait and jig rod?
