I was just wondering what everyone thinks the best specs on a soft plastics rod are? Do you use more than one? Right now I only use one and its 6'6" MH/F. I was thinking about buying a 6'6" M/F rod and having two. Do you think this is necessary? Or will one rod work for all soft plastics? This is spinning gear I'm talking about.

I'm in the process of buying a new spinning reel. I am very happy with my abu casting reels, but have never used thier spinning reels. Anyone have any opinions on this reel? Thanks

I recently purchased purchased a 6'6" heavy casting rod for throwing my frog baits and jigs. I can't decide on what reel to go with. It's going to be a Revo no matter what, but I was wanting everyone's opinions on whether to go high speed or not? Thanks

So, are you saying that catching a big bass is more important than respecting a landowner? I dont care whether you are sneaking through someone's back yard or a business's back yard, its still trespassing. Trespassing is disrespectful to the landowner, there is no excuse for it. Because of people like you alot of landowners wont give permission to the people who ask for it and ruin it for everyone. I'm not a landowner, but I will guarantee you that if I were to ever see anyone trespassing on the land that I have permission to hunt and fish I would call the landowner and let him know whats going on. You can call us all the names you want. I guess doing the right thing makes you a jerk????? Exactly!!! The big ones aren't any good at all for eating!! The good ones are all under 10 lbs. You have obviously never ate the belly meat off of a 40lb flathead! You take that meat, trim and clean all the bad stuff off and I will guarantee you its the best piece of catfish you ever eat! ;D

I just got a Falcon FTO V6 Speed Bag and some FTO boxes and really like it. It holds 4 FTO 700 series boxes, has a zippered pouch on the outside that will hold quite a few bags of soft plastics, and has other pouches on the outside you can put smaller boxes in. A little pricey but I think its well worth the price.

Off topic but where are you fishing at and where in central Illinois are you from. I am also from central Illinois.

Well after reading how much RW suggests Yo Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft I finally bought a spool of 12lb and 8lb test. I spooled all my reels up today and just got to cast them out in the yard. I was impressed though. I haven't fished with the line yet. I can cast this line twice as far as I could with Trilene XL. If fishing with the line is half as good as the castability (sp?), I'll be happy!

I really like these worms. I t-rig them on an EWG hook and fish them like a worm. They produce quite a bit for me.

I have actually tried frying some up once. Scored it like you would buffalo or regular carp. Its really boney and we couldn't get the bones to fry up. Other than than that the meat is really good. Its a really white meat.

I was just wondering if anyone has used these rods? I seen that bps will have them on sale for $50 during the classics so I was just wanting some opinions on them. Are they comparable to the bps extreme or bionic blade? Which would you consider the better buy since you can also buy the extreme for $60 during the classic? Thanks

I got to play with one today and i really liked it. It looks really nice and was very smooth to reel. It also felt really nice in my hands. I will be buying one at the classic during the reel trade in. I think it will be worth the $65.

I have heard great things about the FTO boxes but was wondering if anyone has used the bag they go in? I don't have any of the boxes yet but I am really thinking of making the switch over. Cabelas has a deal where you get the FTO-V6 Speed Bag, FTO-301 Worm/Lizard Organizer, FTO-501 Hook & Sinker Organizer, FTO-703 Spinnerbait/Buzzbait Organizer, FTO-704 Small Crankbait Organizer, and the FTO-705 Medium Crankbait Organizer. All that for $90. Im really thinking hard about it. Does anyone think its worth the $90? Thanks

I live about 25 miles north of springfield and have fished Sanchris quite a bit the past couple of years. Its a pretty nice lake but when the weather breaks its very pressured. I always did the best with a t-rigged baby brush hog or 7" powerworm. I did descent on spinnerbaits also. I would also suggest Site M or Panther Creek. Whichever you prefer to call it. Its located between Petersburg and Channlerville area. There are three small lakes there. The biggest lake is no wake through the whole lake. The other two smaller lakes are elecric motor only. They are all really nice lakes though. LOTS of vegitation! I really like throwing t-rigged plastics and jigs there. There are some nice largemouth in them lakes.

x2 I ordered some Karu Jigs, but have not had the chance to use them. However, they are very high quality and cant wait to use them!
