I love my original Sol and feel like a different paint job on a Tatula is an injustice. Though I do agree, nice color scheme.

I live in Onslow county. Can't say I would recommend it but everywhere else I've been in the state has been great. And three big lakes are only about 2 hours away

Does anybody have the inside scoop? I think an 8 or 9 ratio with purple accents would fit perfectly in the empty slot in my reel bag.

Pheasant numbers have drastically decreased in just the last 10 years alone. When I started hunting (approximately 13 years old) I remember going to Iowa and being astounded at the number of birds. Also hunting in my home state of Minnesota wasn't terrible either. Then one winter we spoiled ourselves and went over to SouthDakota in the Watertown area. I have never seen so many birds in my life. Seems like after that the populations in my usual stomping grounds seemed thin. Now whenever I'm available to hunt it feels like we walk all day to flush maybe 3 roosters all day. I fear for the future of this game bird.

What grain bullet does everyone shoot? I've read loads about the 55 grain expanding better but the 62 grain penetrating better. What do you prefer?

Any high ratio reel is what most people will recommend. This aids in quickly picking up slack, turning fish from cover (also aided by rod) and allowing for fast back to back presentations.

I've tossed a KVD 1.5 into rocks on the shore multiple times with no real damage. Probably just lucky on my part but I will continue to fish them hard. They work well for me.

I throw up to about 10' divers on my custom 7' M/F avid with no problems at all.
