I didn't realize the Hyuga was only going for about $150 from Japan. I thought the $199 Levante would be more with the whole exchange rate inflation, like the Alphas SV going for $270 here. You all very well may be correct in thinking it's just a US release under a different title.

And the XS maintains the purple color scheme! I was hoping for a purple Type R a while back but I can settle for a purple SV all day.

From what I've heard they will still have that Megabass feel but there will be a noticable difference between them and even the XX at $100 more. With that being said we have seen some pretty sweet rods come in at a budget price point and I'm sure these won't disappoint. As far as the similarities between this and the Hyuga, maybe the "from scratch" comment was geared towards the USDM market.

It's not the Hyuga, Megabass rep has said it's a from scratch lineup.

How I read that description they are comparing the width to the TD Zillion.

If I'm reading this correctly, you lifted a three pound fish completely out of the water using just the rod itself? This would be like boat flipping/high sticking and is most likely the cause of the break. On another note, I don't ever store my rods with that much tension on them.
