Navionics didn't have the two lakes I want to fish, any other options?

I'm looking for underwater topo maps of two lakes I've never fished. Cannot find them from Fish n' Map Company. I don't have a fancy sonar, just a 200 Lowrance, and a Garmin E trex GPS. Is there any program where I can download the map on my PC and then plug waypoints into my GPS without having to buy a whole new sonar unit?

I have four and they are amazing.

Jerkbaits, especially deeper diving jerkbaits, slow rolling spinnerbaits, swim jigs, finesse worms, and also cranks when it warms a bit. With trailers on most jigs, go with fairly subtle trailers like a zoom chunk, rather than a wild flapper like a paca or rage chunk.

I like the Live Target 55t in Green Tan, and also the Bullfrog booyah pad crasher. Black is always a great color through as well, and many guys swear by white.

The way they are stealing our fishing with quarantines and inspections is disgusting. To placate their paranoia, they should offer 24 hour inspections.

Bass are getting more and more popular, and Colorado and Utah fish managers don't care enough about our bass. Both those lakes are still good but like you said are starting to go down hill. A good idea is to cut down trees, put them in pots, and pour concrete around them. IMO Utah and Colorado fisheries management is some of the worst in the nation. The only care about trout and trash fish.

I'm looking for a quality frog rod for 180.00 or under. I want one at least 7' that has a good backbone but is easy to walk a frog with and skip under overhangs. I sometimes throw frogs under 1/2 an ounce (ie old scum frogs), so should I go with a MH or H rod? I'll be using 50 pound braid since I don't have super thick salad around here, just patches

Figured the whole thing out. Working like a charm. Dang those round reels are a tough one to totally disassemble and clean on your first attempt.

Okay found out where to screw the shaft into idle gear B. Will keep posted on this adventure.

In my latest attempt to teach myself to clean reels, I am having trouble with one part of my Cardiff after I cleaned it and disassembled it. The part is 3592, aka IDLE GEAR B, on the left hand side of the reel (it's a right handed reel). How do I put this part properly back into the reel? There are several screws and then the IDLE GEAR B SHAFT, part 2653, and this goes through the center of the round gear. I see that IDLE GEAR A is on the left hand side of the spool as well.

I am familiar with that situation too. Once they were able to reduce the lake trout population somewhat, the kokanee salmon DID NOT recover. Lake trout unfairly got the blame for a large part.

Nevermind figured it out, had the yoke on upside down, easy to do on shimanos since both sides look so similar.

It will start spinning when I reel it but it won't stop? WTH?

I have cleaned and reassembled my Curado 200E5 successfully before without any problems. But as I finished reassembling it tonight. I noticed the spool will not reel consistently when I turn the handle, and it often spins on it's own without turning the handle. I followed the schematics precisely, at least I think. What is the problem here? Too much oil or grease (didn't use that much)? Or have I reassembled it incorrectly?

Write all of the congressmen and senators because it may come up for a vote in the US Senate and House. Don't let them kill for no reason like they have already done in Colorado, and have accomplished nothing in bringing back endangered rough fish.

The only places that deep I can think of with swift current would be the Columbia, outflows and inflows of the Great Lakes, and areas of the Lower Colorado River. You might run into that directly below dams on the Mississippi, Tennessee and Ohio though.

Sand Hollow and Quail Creek kick butt. Gunlock, Utah Lake, Pelican, and Recapture are nothing to shake a stick at either. Starvation is good for smallies and walleye, and Jordanelle has both big smallmouth and largemouth, though the fishery has suffered in recent years. Flaming Gorge is probably the best smallie fishery in the state, and Powell is always good for numbers of smallies and nice largemouth. If I had to pick one though, it would be Sand Hollow, followed by Quail Creek and Pelican.

Can you practice a skip cast with a baitcaster on smooth concrete of say a garage floor or the like? This is a technique I really am desperate to get down, although I'm slowly improving.

Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein have proposed a bill that would mandate the killing of all black bass, stripers, and other sportfish in the Cal Delta. Nonnative fish are being used as a scapegoat for declines of native species like Salmon, Delta Smelt, and Hitch, when the real reason are the plethora of dams. I know this isn't a political site, but I feel people need to know, and to write EVERY SINGLE congressman and Senator telling them to oppose this bill. The killing of nonnative sporting fish has already failed to aid the endangered fish of the Colorado River basin, which is a considerably larger river than the Sacramento. It's also failed in Australia to bring back the Murray Cod. The real reason, we all know, are dams and diversions. Look this up online and please write to those in power. Clear Lake may be in danger too.

The symetre is a good reel but the Pflueger President for 60 bucks cannot be beat and is arguably better than a Symetre.

No doubt a bad batch it's usually good stuff.

I throw swimbaits up to 5 ounces and as light as 1.5 ounces on my setup, using 17 pound mono.
