  1. have been simply rigging them with a tube jig head and exposed hook, dont seem to get as many chews with it weedless
  2. thanks for the replies been using the SK smoke with red / black flakes, and another brand green pumpkin both with good results, been using them with my spinning rod though
  3. ah i used to toss alot, nowadays only once in a blue moon i used to love putting in a good liper and fishing lol

  5. Soft plastic tubes.. Who here uses them? What kind and size do you use? How do you prefer to rig them? Do you add scent? Spinning or casting rod? What line? Im loving these lately just trying to gather some info and try some new setups and techniques thanks!

  7. Fenwick walleye class 6'6" medium action casting rod 6-15 lb line, 1/4 - 5/8 oz lure trying to decide what to use this rod for
  8. set your drag properly when using braid and you shouldnt have issues
  9. only ones I use are YUM crawbugs, with great success
  10. I have a revo SX , decent reel for $150 i use it alot. I also own a veritas rod 7' mh/f and am personally not a fan of it really, very stiff and brittle. the epoxy on the eyes is absolutely awful too imo

  15. thanks guys for all the informative responses fenwicks are great rods for sure wouldnt hesitate to purchase another landed a 3.5 lbs smallie off my dock today just farting around with a lipless crankbait. thing fought like a beasst
  16. thanks alot i used the rod today paired with a abu revo sx with 14 lb trilene xt green mono i really liked it, tried crankbait, lipless crankbait and spinnerbait all worked very well. casted great, had perfect action and i felt confident in the setup. got a decent pike was 25" about 4 pounds will try jigging with it tomorrow and see how i like it
  17. thanks WRB i purchased a fenwick smallmouth casting rod 6'10 medium action fast tip, its rated a bit light 1/8-5/8 was going to use it for crankbaits but may use it to jig still very new to setting up rods properly, am pretty overwhelmed lol
  18. hmm well the other options are all MH pretty much.. which i dont like as much the crankbaits i usually troll and cast with is 7/16 oz and the smaller size is 1/4 oz so i think those are fine and for spinnerbaits i usually only use the 3/8 oz ones really
  19. i mean it is rated up to 5/8 oz right
  20. thanks for the replies what do you all consider light spinnerbaits and cranks? i think the heaviest ones i use are half an ounce, will those be okay for this rod?
  21. Purchased a 6'10" fenwick medium action two piece rod today, planning on using it for jigging and maybe crankbait as well. Will be putting my revo sx 6.4.1 on it Anyone have one of these rods? Looks like a great rod, i have an older walleye class rod and i love it. What would you use with that rod?
  22. Hey all, First post here. Im wondering what exactly everyones setup(s) for jigging are? Things id like to know: Rod - kind, length, action, style ( casting / spinning) Line - what brand of line ( mono, flouro or braid) Reel Jigs - what jigs do you use and when Just looking to hear what setups some people prefer so i can try out some new setups and combos Been fishing many years but am only really getting into jigging seriously lately Thanks
