  2. well drop the bait near the boat and see what pace it falls, every bait will fall at different speeds and line is also a factor
  3. nice!! im having a great fall, weathers been amazing and the fishing is the same. So far have caught several 3lb smallies, largies, big pike and a few great walleye. Still havent caught my 4lb smallie or 5lb large... soon hopefully
  4. the vengeance and veritas are known for being very brittle and snapping, same with the epoxy on the eyes. i have a veritas and have no confidence in it due to it being so fragile
  5. Thinking about purchasing one of the Fenwick Elite Tech Muskie rods, ive heard they are a great beginner muskie rod and i like my walleye and smallie rods by them. im not sure what bait i will be using as i am new to fishing these species, which of the fenwick muskie rods should i go with? Also what reel should i pair up with it? Thanks
  6. Why do so many people use 10lb braided line...? I have always thought that if my rod is rated for 8-14 pound line the smallest dia braid i could use would be 30lb braid as it is equivalent to 8lb mono. Would 10lb braid be equivalent to like 2lb mono?
  7. tubes, grubs, soft craws, crankbait, lipless cranks, yum dingers, spinnerbait, im going to try shakey head jigs for the first time soon, well see if they like it

  13. i love braided line.. i use 30lb braid on my spinning rods and 50lb braid on my baitcasters. i keep only one baitcaster with 14lb mono for cranks, lipless cranks and the odd time a spinnerbait or we
  14. dwight! that is the smallmouth bass of my dreams!!
  15. i use mister twister sassy shads
  16. on my baitcasters i either have 50lb braid which is 12lb diameter or 14lb mono / floro spinnning rod for me always has 30lb braid which is 8lb diameter i believe
  17. Cordell super spot for lipless cranks, personally i find the stock hooks extremely dull so i always switch them out. Rapala makes some decent ones too For standard cranks - Jointed shad raps (crayfish, baby bass, yellow perch) Yo-zuri shashimi cranks, deep running shad raps, strike king KVD square bills, rapala flat rap, cotton cordell big O's, xraps,
  18. ive got the ez braid on my spinning rod currently, am really not a fan of it. I have had three knots in two days, the line is noticibly kinked throughout. I really like spiderwire stealth 50lb braid, might try the 30lb version i recommend doing the same
  19. Yum crawbugs for soft plastics, tubes in craw color, crawfish jointed shad raps, craw fatties sometimes
  20. thanks! yeah this is the largest we have seen in our lake, but i know they get substantially larger in other bodies of water in ontario.
  21. my dad got a pretty good pike at the lake last weekend, I wasn't there so he didn't have my scale but he had a measuring tape and it was 37'' what would you say this weighs? my biggest was probably only 8ish pounds so far, this one looks to be at least 10-13
  22. soft plastic crays, tube jigs, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, lipless cranks,
  23. Picked up a St Croix Mojo Bass 6'8" medium action spinning rod with extra fast tip. Anyone have one? reviews? I usually only have one spinning setup, will probably be using it for soft plastics mostly what would you use it for?
