I have an Elite 7 chirp, I am almost certain only the sonar is clearer and has better target separation. The downscan is the same as it is / was on the elite 7 hdi, and the units do not have side scan. Honestly I would look around, I've seen hds 8s on sale for half price and things like that. The hds units are clearer, have faster and more detailed gps and they support side scan

Swing jigs would be great! Personally I would use 1/2 & 3/4oz footballs, 1/4 & 3/8oz with 3/0 if offered with your brush head but they would have to be super line hooks

Mh/fast casting rod with a soft tip, 30lb power pro 15lb fluorocarbon leader any reel capable of casting a weightless fluke or caffeine shad, d shad etc. I use a 4/0 - 5/0 Gama Ewg hook for 5'' soft jerkbaits

I use my 705cb glass for squarebills, you'd definitely want a longer rod for deep cranking. I find that any plug that dives 12'ish+ is a bit too much for the 705cb glass

The farther you cast that jig out the more you will get hung up, try casting shorter or pitching it out there keep your rod tip up and hop it over the weeds rather than drag it through them. Try to keep vertical as possible on your presentation. Also give Texas rigs a try I've been using them more than jigs lately for largemouth, they get hung up less depending on the plastic used.

any moderate action will be good for cranking, you choose the power depending on the weight of the plug you are using.

Medium or med-heavy rod depending on bait size with a moderate fast action, quick enough to work a bait but soft enough to keep fish pinned especially with small size 6 trebles on jerkbaits

I own that exact unit, purchased it when it was released. There isn't a lot of info online yet about them. The Elite 7 CHIRP is simply clearer than the 7 hdi and has better target separation. It is a nice unit, but for the money I'd recommend spending a bit more and getting the HDS and here's why. The Elite 7 GPS is slow, it's really frustrating to be honest.. I wouldn't rely on it in a tourney it's not reliable enough. The picture on sonar and downscan is great though, I still need to fiddle with mine more but I can post some screenshots.. I was also disappointed with the "gold" card as it only has main waterways none of the lakes I fish were on it.
