  1. of course I agree with that logic, I was just thinking since there are not many homes / cottages on the lake and we are all a close community I figured approaching him wouldn't be an issue if done correctly. ive been considering making up some really nice, big and simple C&R promotion signs and putting them up on the dirt road coming into the lake. I am not sure if he lives off the land but I would have to assume no since he has a big pontoon boat, but hey what do I know haha
  2. I am curious to see what your rod is rated for line wise, and what test braid you use. Feel free to post multiple setups if you have them. Also say if the rod is casting or spinning please
  3. the mojo bass being tip heavy is one my biggest annoyances with the rod ive read hundreds of reviews on the avid series so im going to have to try one for myself
  4. are you saying the avid is lesser than those rods mentioned? also the avid 6'8" m/xf is exactly the mojo bass model i use currently, how much better is the avids sensitivity and performance than the mojo bass?
  5. Thanks i will check out the Aetos series, i currently have a fenwick walleye casting rod and a smallmouth casting rod as well am looking to try something a bit different
  6. im still very new to setting up rods so forgive me for asking but, cranks and weightless plastics require much different rods?
  7. love how hank always gives the fish a worm after he catches it lol, what a great guy
  8. thanks everyone, im going to purchase some things today im going to hold and check out the avid 7'8 mxf see how she feels
  9. you do know the photos you posted are of northern pike and not pikerel right
  10. @brian brazier heck yes, i tell ya whut i am a die hard KOTH fan, that episode is great!!
  11. which rod would be ideal for my needs within the Avid series?
  12. im going to have to hold an avid and do some more research, i definitely want something very sensitive for when i use tubes, which is alot.
  13. i am totally addicted, this is my first serious year. literally if i have 8 hours before a shift ill drive an hour to my lake just to fish for a little lol, then drive back. do it all the time
  14. I dont mind the mojo bass but i feel it has low sensitivity personally and my medium seems pretty stiff, as i read more reviews many dislike the savvy series. i also dislike how my mojo was made in mexico lol maybe i should look closer at an avid.. or spend a bit more and get a gloomis or something hm
  15. should have mentioned im looking for light weight, sensitive, durable and sexy to look at
  16. Am going to be purchasing a new spinning rod, will be using it for tubes, soft plastics, etc The rod im thinking of purchasing is a Dobyns Savvy SS 702SF I have been using a mojo bass rod, looking for an upgrade. What is everyones thoughts on this rod for me? Will also be upgrading my reel if anyone has recommentations
  17. from my experience 832 simply faded rather than bleed, its amazing line but the color fading bothers me. i use spiderwire stealth right now its cheaper and has not bled or faded one bit in several months, although i think alot of people dislike SW
  18. im quite confused and obviously have been misinformed ive been using 30lb braid on the spinning rod and 50lb braid on my casters with literally no issue. no backlashes, no line digging in, etc
  19. so using 50lb braid on a rod rated for 8-14lb line is a nono? i use 50lb braid on the casters and 30lb on the spinning rod, for quite some time believing this is accurate
  20. yes i think marty was definitely correct in that regard however the comment regarding line rating being based on strength and not diameter is not accurate,
  21. Ranger!! My buddy has a Z520C and holy cow... we hit close to 80 MPH top speed lol. we take huge u turns going 65 MPH. oh and you can fish from it lol
