+1 Never had good luck for LMB when I can see more than one carp...but in the river, the SMB and carp seem to coexist under the same shadow just fine

Lost some stuff when I flipped for the first time yesterday....will put more thought into securing things with the replacement gear. I had 3700's set in crate, but not secured inside it. Made it easy to access, but I can still picture the boxes floating down the river as I struggled to keep the rods and paddle.

Great outing! Floated from Bentonville (Low Water Bridge) to State Park. Stopped for shore lunch about half way. Smallies were holding tight to bottom and wouldn't touch much until you slid it slowly past their faces. Few caught on spinners or cranks....no topwater bite before dusk that I'm aware of. (Couple of the volunteers continued on until after 10PM!) But Crazy Flappers, Mega Bug (minis), flukes, and four inch senkos bounced with the current turned out to be just the thing. I believe that everyone caught fish, with some in the upper teens (and one 20".) Three of us stayed the night and did the same float again Sunday. Similar conditions/results. I'll add the FB link when Tami gets the 'official' photos posted.

Good to hear! I've been on the rez a lot less this year since I've been in my yak nearly full time. I have gone out of BRM a couple times and paddled from Fountainhead and Lake Ridge once each. Nothing to brag about, I'm afraid. Early morning bank fish and a few deeper shakey/trig, but I haven't tried deep carolina dragging from the yak yet. I must admit that last time or two out of BRM, I had a very hard time finding fish after the early bite. I'd think the deeper channels would be best, but the deep ones have eluded me this year. I can usually find some around the parks, though, since I know those contours a lot better.

To be honest, I don't know if 'too much available credit' is a factor in credit score analysis. I do know, however, that it has affected calculations by my lenders. I was both denied a new loan and offered low limit on new card until I closed unused/underused accounts.

I'm afraid it is a LOT more complicated than that. The formulas and algorithms used are dependent on a lot of variables. Some individuals can be penalized for having low balances with relatively high limit(s), also. As someone above pointed out, the single most important and consistent variable to your credit rating (that you can 'easily' control) is to not be late with payments or bounce checks (or whatever today's check-less equivalent is.)

A number of the best bass fishermen in the world weighed less than a limit yesterday. I'm trying to feel bad for them, but ashamedly a little happy about it.

Divide the balance by the number of months remaining on your zero offer. Pay that much every month. Arrive at July 17 with $0.00. Your idea of paying the minimum because there's no interest is decent logic. IF you can still manage to have it ALL paid off before the interest rate jumps. Not a lot of people have that sort of discipline, however. A-Jay's suggestion is best for most. A great plan for most of us: Use the card for every day expenses -- especially if you're getting points or some sort of reward, but pay it off each month.

I'm confused. What's changed since we discussed this months ago? It doesn't appear that the Senate bill will get out of committee. What does the petition do? Who does it go to? Why Aug 11? The web site refers both to Feinstein's Senate bill, and to a "proposal before the California Fish and Game Commission". If we're petitioning CA F&G, I'm surprised that they'd care about my input - since I'm on the other end of the country and have no science or biology background. Don't get me wrong -- I'm fully against the proposals as I understand them...but I sure wish that 'activist web sites' were a LOT more forthcoming about what it is they are doing and what it is they want me to do.

Search Potomac here and read some of the other threads about it...takes a while to get used to the tides and grasses

Spider slider heads with finesse-type plastics will work down and through the weeds extremely well and get you to those fish nearer the bottom.

Try something made from elaztech. However, if you've got good shaky heads, I've never thought I needed a floating worm. Do a bathtub/bucket test with the heads and worms you have. You may be surprised at the action you get from even salty worms.

I walk tight smaller Gunfish using 8# Yo-Zuri on a 7' MF. Tie direct with San Diego Jam. Quick horizontal or slightly downward wrist-snaps....won't take you long with just a little practice

Paddled around Gunston Cove with Heroes on the Water last night. Over three hours and I think I had one bite. Fish were seen, but they weren't interested. One guy (out of nearly a dozen fishing) got a couple. Rest of us got the stink on. If anything, the grass is even thicker than it was a week ago. Hard to find edges and holes with any chop at all. Tried punching, but I haven't figured out how to do that effectively from a kayak yet. Potomac is a great river, but she doesn't always give up her bass willingly.

There's a good chance I'll be spending 3-5 days working at the Army Depot later this month. Not yet sure if I will drive -- if so, I'll have gear and a yak. If not, I'll at least have a rod/reel. Any suggestions for local bank fishing and/or public launches for bass fishing in the area? I've never been to Anniston before.

BTW, that guy was hooked from my kayak. Gave me a nice long tour of much of the river system before I could flag down a boat with a net....if they hadn't dropped by, I'd probably still be getting dragged up and down that river

x4 - I have trouble changing a light bulb, but I've replaced rod tips a half dozen times over the years....can't recall one that seemed appreciably worse afterward.

This little guy took a crank, also. As far as I know, he's still got it. Got my arm in nearly to the elbow and still couldn't dislodge it. Told him he could keep it.
