Canned Tuna
That's funny! Just this past weekend I was telling my wife that I might try using the grease from that morning's breakfast bacon like MegaStrike.

Thank you. I appreciate the report and liked your videos. Not my business, I know, but I'm a little saddened that top end was 3.5. And I'm not sure what to think about having someone else take the fish off. I'm sure the guy's got to earn his tips and all....and I'd probably get used to it quickly.....but, it just feels a little off...like I'd be missing out on part of the catching experience....then again, he's more than welcome to the flopping 1.5 trying to drive triple trebles into my hand- Deep Cold Water
- What Did You Learn From The Classic
Got an email ad that said the big fish of the tourny was caught on a roboworm. I saw elsewhere that Bobby Lane had the largest. Was it caught on a drop shot? Also, were the bags all LMB? Spots? Mixed?- Quantum Smoke Sale, Thoughts?
I have a Smoke spinning reel and my wife and I both have a Smoke baitcasting reel. The baitcasting reels are fantastic; I want more. The spinning reel, not so much. It isn't awful, but I prefer most others in the price range.- What Song Do You Have Them Play When...

I received a package of Hyper Worms last year and while I loved the action, the color left with too little confidence to give them a fair shake. I've since seen a couple/few posts about some of their other stuff (I notice that RW uses/likes the Magic Shad) but not much chatter, all in all. Since I'm reconsidering my contention that I already have WAY too much plastic, I'm thinking about giving LFT another chance. What is your experience with their soft plastics? Good? Bad? What do you like best? Their wide segmentations look funny to me, but must have been a big part of the action I saw on the Hyper Worm. Thoughts?- What Is This?
I used to trig them, but these are so much better: http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Dredge-Arky-Jighead-462.htm- Weighted Hooks Or Jigheads For Soft Swimbaits

This weekend I had a few hours to kill out of town, near a BPS while my wife was in some meetings. A couple/few years ago, that would have meant real trouble. Saturday, i killed about 90 minutes in there and walked out without buying anything. Watching the fish in the tank was the best part of the trip. It is a combination of having way too much stuff already; and over a year here on BR learning, and being able to whittle down my wish list.- Flukes/floating Worms Do Best With Flurocarbon Right?
I've had the same struggles. I suspect that short strikes and spit hooks are much more the result of the fish's actions than mine or my equipment.....but then again, I'm pretty good at deflecting blame- Something Was Missing
Wow, LE. Thanks for that link! It was huge and personal to me. Mr. Garth, and especially Mr. Ritchel did a very good job of explaining exactly what I was trying to vocalize just this past weekend. It is kind of spooky. I really appreciate the link.- Casey Ashley Planted Over 50 Brushpiles On Hartwell!

- Soft Plastics/light Lures On A Baitcaster?
I love my baitcasters. But I don't go fishing without at least one spinning rod...usually more.- What Would You Buy?
Probably not what the poster above me would buy, but you could do worse than this: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/151737-megabass-lucky-craft-strike-king-and-tons-of-plastics/- What Would You Buy?

Overhead, ya gotta be smooth......for a while, you'll need to think "smooth" every single cast....you'll forget once and bam, instant backlash.....smooth, smooth, smooth....doesn't take much of a hitch in your swing and bam....birdsnest- Bladed Jigs
Is the SK Rage Blade just a fancy (read more expensive) scrounger? Has anyone done a comparison between the Rage Blade (or Naked Rage Blade) and a Scrounger in a tank? They seem to have the same wobble to me. I suppose that need to get them side by side in a fish tank one of these days.- Anyone Hit The Occoquan Reservoir Lately?
Took the new kayak over to Lake Ridge weekend before last and couldn't get out because of the ice. Spent a couple hours on Dogue Creek instead, but nothing doing there. I imagine the ice is going to be bad for a while after this week.- Fun Jobs You've Had...
Looking back now, I think that all the jobs I had in my teens and 20's were fun. But, I somehow doubt I felt that way at the time.....Newspaper carrier; getting up at 3 on a January morning in Wisconsin to deliver papers in the snow and sub-zero weather...but I what I remember is jacking around at the carrier station with the other guys before hitting the routes......babysitting...whiny snot-nosed kids...but now I just recall getting paid to sit around and watch tv and eat someone elses' food; ....getting paid to cut grass; awesome - hardly counted as work, even.......I remember working at the neighborhood variety store with friends, great customers, good bosses....but I tend to forget about shoveling the parking lot, cleaning fish tanks, cleaning the restrooms, etc....I remember hitting ports in the South Pacific for incredible liberty after I joined the Navy, but I now gloss over or completely forget about boot camp and early days as a Seaman Recruit swabbing decks, standing watch and polishing brass. It sure is a good thing that my memory generally focuses on the good stuff.- Weighted Swimbait Hooks...
I used to throw nearly all my plastics on Texas rigs. Last year, I tried weighted hooks almost every time that I would have used T-rig in the past. I favor the weighted hook over T-rig probably 2-1 now. Any worms, flukes, beavers, creatures, paddle tails. However, once I discovered the swinging jighead, I used that for most beaver/creature presentations.- Changing Monofilament On Ultralight
I don't think I've ever changed out a spool of line before the line told me it was time...lost more more than 1/3 a spool, or more generally via breaks or memory issues. - 4 Days At Lake Picachos! + Gopro Footage!
