  1. Everyone always asks me about mine. No it has nothing to do with Snoops made up language. A buddy and I were up in the mountains wheeling his bronco on 35's. He's a San Diego taco holder wearer and after about 8 or nine adult beverages per, we decided to try a little boulder field. Had to lock it into four wheel drive "Bro were gonna have to lock it into four bizzle" he said. I was drunk it was funny. After that, everytime we decided to do something stupid, like drink too much, wheel to hard, or fish too long, we called it locking into fourbizzle. Not all that exciting, but it started as just an email address that didnt need a bunch of numbers or underscores, and it has since snowballed. it is my screen name EVERYWHERE. Very unoriginally my avatar is my PB, I love that fish!
  2. LOL, putting aside the fact that I suck, I don't fish any water that is likely to produce a WR. Of all the lakes that I fish, the biggest fish caught have been 18lbs. It is possible though not very probable to grow larger fish in our slightly cooler climate. I don't fish any lakes much farther south than San Jose. Cuba does have a REAL good chance. There have been some really good fish caught down there. Only problem is that they were caught using an illegal type of bait, If I remember correctly.
  3. I lose confidence around 40 feet, but I have caught them deeper. You can keep contact in 35 feet of water very easily with a 5 ounce bait.
  4. Dude, DO NOT throw a fat ika at folsom. Seriously.
  5. Preach it brother! to follow up on that-Genesis 9:2 "The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every bird of the heavens, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered. 9:3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything." ;D Interesting. I didn't know that the Jews before the common era (B.C.E.) were masters in North American fisheries and wildlife management. Funny!
  6. What can I say? Its not everyday that someone off of an international forum talks about my backyard! There are some toads to be found in that lake, record is around 15 I think, but it's a tough lake, thats for sure.
  7. Shimano I live less than 10 miles from Folsom! It is a real tough lake. When I first got into bassing seriously a few years ago, it was my usual lake. It is real hot and cold. I almost never fish it anymore. Having said that, my previous PB of 7.5 came out of Folsom while I was fishing on shore. Most of what you will catch there are spots in the 1.5-2.5 lb range. They are real mean and fight well. My advice to you this time of year is to do a few things. Run up the north arm and fish the western side of the arm. Fish mostly points and the boulder fields. Right now I would recomend using dart heads on spinning gear with 4.5-6 inch straight tail worms. favorite colors are green weenie, oxblood lite, and aarons magic. fish slowly working downhill from 5 feet to 25 feet. You WILL catch some fish. You could also dropshot the same worms. Also a favorite of mine at that lake is fishing the "changes" in shoreline. IE where it goes from rocky to muddy, or gravely to boulder filled. You need to fish the precise seam. I don't know why, but they really key in on these areas. The other major style to pursue is shad eaters. Right now they are balled up in open water about 10-40 feet down. With a reliable graph you should be able to find shad balls with some fat mean spots working the bait. If they are busting on top, although it is a little early, try a spook, sammy, or popper in some sort of shad color or ghost minnow (LC). The ripbait bite is better if they are down to about 10 ft. staysees are my bait in ghost minnow. Any deeper and I typically spoon them. A 1/2oz silver kastmaster should do it. She is a tough lake for me and many others, but it is the type of lake that once you start to figure it out, you can usually scrape up a few fish, with 30 fish days and 5 lb fish an occasional bonus. Wish you well bud, if I can help anymore let me know. FB
  8. 2 anglers with 47lbs-10.5ozs for 5 fish in one night. Not a single one on swimbaits. Goodtimes. 13-1 11-8 8-2 8-1.5 6-14
  9. Gaw! I love that fish! She is just gorgeous. She even swam away for another angler to catch!
  10. Don't let the haters get you worried dude. Everyone understands what size is considered big in what areas of the country. I know you realize how AWESOME some of these northern fish are that guys on here have caught. We are asking for everyones. Not "Everyone except Fish, because his are so big it makes us sad". Everytime I see one of your fish, especially your big 3, I get all excited! Nobody gets tired of seeing your pictures dude, thats what its all about!
  11. I knew you had a donkey, but that thing is SICK! She scares me. I like it! ;D Mine wasn't as bleached out as she looks, I think it had something to do with my UBER flash on my camera,
  12. hey wheres the pic of your PB huh? 13lbs 1oz 27in by 22 in
  13. I've only had a shot at one solid DD bed fish, but the ONLY thing I could get her to eat was Matt's Male Bluegill. She ate it twice, but I missed her the first time, and dumped her at my feet the second time. I must have run 20 baits past her over 6 or 8 hours in two days, that was the only bait I could get her to light up.
  14. Alright guys, let's see PICTURES of everyone's PB. I don't want to hear "oh I caught a 17 on powerbait, but I don't have a picture". We wanna see some proof. It doesn't matter if it is a 3 from vermont, or a obese western toad, just throw them up! Maybe we can try and limit it to just the pics, not a bunch of back slapping replies. I think a solid thread of PBs would be sick!
  15. Last weekend I hooked, fought, and broke off an ~80 pound fawn.
  16. If I remember correctly, you live outside the U.S. Obviously I have no idea what constitutes a "trophy" fish where you live. A 10" softbait is a pretty serious bait. I do fish an 11.5" hardbait though. I have never fished the big Storms, but only because I have had very poor success with even their smaller baits. But if that bait matches your basses main forage ( for big fish) and you have confidence in their smaller baits, it might be worth it. It probably goes without saying that a 10" softbait will be VERY heavy and almost impossible to cast without an X-heavy rod. Good Luck to you in your trophy hunting. Lets see some pics when you get one! FB
  17. I had it proven to me this weekend. I started on a windblown main lake point and picked up a fish on a slow day. beat the bank for a couple hundred yards for not a bite. at the first secondasy point, i picked up a fish on the windlblown side. I repeated this all the way up the arm, catching one or two fish off of every secondary point on the windy side. I had zero bites anywhere in between. it was about as clear an example as I could have asked for. good stuff FB
  18. I don't think that a company that is run by, and supporting one man should be pestered for free baits. I work construction and if everyone that I met was constantly asking me to work on their house for free I would be pizzed. If someone loves them sooo much, then pay the man what he is due for his hardwork. I have had baitmakers try and give me baits, but it makes me feel guilty, so I kick them back some money. Of course I tell people how great I think certain baits are (Matt's being one) but I do it because the baits ARE great, not just to weasel baits out of people. I have had at least 12 of Matt's baits and have been happy to pay for all of them. We start talking about tungsten weights, or certain other swimbaits and my happiness quickly fades. If you are an angler on a tight budget, earn your freebies. Or at least swindle a big company out of them . I sure would like Shimano to never see another cent of mine!
  19. I always thought it was 12.4-12.6, but I don't know.

    i'll second that!
  21. Thanks LBH, but i think i need to clarify. this thing is ABUSED, not just a few leaky rivets. We're talkin some cracks, really bent up seams, gigantic gashes in the "runners"(or whatever) on the bottom. Over a ten hour day it takes on about 5" of water. I can weld aluminum, and I don't think that I would be able to seal it up by welding and riveting. I was hoping that there was something that I could paint/roll/spray/ lay down on the inside of the boat because I'm tearing everything else out anyway. I realize that aluminums will always leak to an extent, but I just need a finger to stick in the hole in the dam!
  22. crap! i was just starting to get convinced > that is precisely what I was afraid of. I doubt it was chipped because of physical abuse. it has been my experience that at least on trucks, that stuff almost always peels. there has to be something that will work. I am also thinking about using bichethane (sp?) and covering it with marine carpet, though that opens up a whole other can of worms
  23. Do you guys think that there would be any benefit to multiple coats?
  24. I actually HAVE a perlite sand blaster. I will take your advice and talk to an auto body shop and see what they think. Do you think that the inherent flexing of an old aluminum will crack the bed liner, or will it flex enough as well?
