  1. Don't catch the males. Bed fishing is more about reading the fish than what bait you use. I like the Mattlures Ultimate Gill to get them really fired up, then throw in a jig or a Mission Fish to finish them off.
  2. Yeah Fish, I'll take three to go please I dont know what it is about these birds, but they are fun to chase after.
  3. Its nothing special. Brandon, I got on another piece of property off Greenwood Rd. It is pretty awesome.
  4. Well, with the arrival of APRIL SNOW.... IN CALIFORNIA... I cut my day short. Had a tiny jake and 3 hens check out my spread. Passed on the little guy. Saw 2 decent birds at a distance and couldnt bring them in. Its been too cold lately I think, nobody is talking and toms arent interested in hens yet. Passed a huge tom on the side of the road about a mile from the property on my way home. Of course. bowfish, We actually have established populations of Eastern, Merriams, and Rio Grandes. Where I am at seems to be about 75% Rios, with the rest appearing to be Merriams. Go up another 750ft in elevation and they are almost all Merriams. There arent many Easterns in the state, but there are some.
  5. Skipping an 8" Huddleston is the most fun.
  6. I should be set up with a couple turkey decoys in front of me by 6am. It is 1:30 and I havent slept a wink. I dont imagine that I will tonight. Reminds me of the night before Elk season. Hopefully I'll have a pic of a gobbler with a hole poked in him by noon. ;D
  7. Yeah, that is what Dan and I were talking about.
  8. All of my rods except swimbait rods have Sufix Performance Braid. I cannot fish a jig or dropshot without a braided mainline anymore. Mono is like wearing a condom. Sure, you'll get the job done, but it just doesnt feel as good.
  9. Gnarly! They are probably gonna find Tin floating around somewhere on his hemorrhoid donut. ;D
  10. I think BC2 is a great game for people that suck at CoD. The randomness and imprecision really helps them out. ;D
  11. 2 days? You make this thread after 2 days? Thats not ok. Week minimum imho.
  12. Man!, its nice to have Crash back! I dont know about the other maps yet, and I still don't like Overgrown, but I just went 36-0 on Crash HCHQ. I only got 2 of those kills off of killstreaks too.
  13. i will only use the no insert tru-tungstens.
  14. If it is any help, I still think that it is funny. ;D
  15. lol. at least my insurance went down I guess.
  16. Never seen one. And they all lived happily ever after, the end ;D
  17. not as lame as wrestling.
  18. craigslist is not intended for nor does it encourage non local deals. I love it. I use it rarely, but when I have, I have come away with some amazing deals.
  19. For cheap flies, I like www.anglersdream.net . I get some of my leaders and line from www.sierratradingpost.com. Leaders are important. They are tapered from very thick ( about 40lb mono diameter) down to tippet ( 2-8lb test). This taper is very important for it transfers the energy of your cast all the way to the fly smoothly. Think of a bullwhip, if the whip was the same thickness throughout, it would not have the same power at the tip as a tapered one would. This ensures that your fly lays out where you want it to and not to either side, or in a puddle. The tippet is like paul said, about the last 20% of the leader. After this is gone from retying you can attach tippet to the leader using a line to line knot or loop to loop attachments. I generally clip off the tippet section of a leader the moment I attach it to my mainline, tie a perfection loop on it, and attach my tippet from my spools using another perfection loop.
  20. That just plain makes me smile.
  21. another possible route I forgot to mention. If you have access to a high capacity air compressor, you could buy a pneumatic chisel. These can be had for about $30 at Napa or wherever and will have a couple bits included. Basically a mini jackhammer.
  22. Alot of times, just rapping them with a hammer will break them, and their bond with the grout, and mortar underneath. Roto hammers with an 1.5" blade, hammer only mode, can really speed up the demo. any decent rental yard will have one.
  23. true that! i rue the day i bought that piece of junk.
  24. You'd need a D9 to unbunch those...
