According to my fisheries biologist friend, who studied largemouth growth in school, and is a better big bass fisherman than anyone in this thread, vertical is fine. That is good enough for me.

Forget the tube bait. Get a mattlures hardgill floater, a 6" huddleston, and a 7" mission fish. Fish the most prime structure your lake has to offer.

Every single fish I have caught over 10 I have held vertically by the jaw. I will continue to do so. It does no harm. How you plan on weighing that fish without hanging it by the jaw?

OH man! That is awesome. They have resigned themselves to not treat the lake again. So if they show back up, they are here to stay. They grow so incredibly fast in that lake, that they will be of sporting size in just a couple years from now!
