*My bad , raises a good question though as to whether you could use the same rod set up to throw a buzz bait , chatter bait and a spinner bait with ?

^^The 6'10" All Star bait cast rod $49 regular price is not bad for the intended applications (spinner bait / chatter bait) ; I would describe it as a Fast / Moderate action rod which you want for these applications . *I have one rigged up with YZH #12 lb. line on a H2O Mettle 6:3:1 bait cast reel I use for junk fishing - it actually does a variety of applications pretty darn well (considering the price point) !

I used to think a MH Fast was ideal for chatterbaits but now believe a 7' or 7'3" MH / Moderate bait cast rod to be the better choice (such as a Dobyns Fury 705cb.)

*Good to know - I have Sierra 734c. , 735c casting rods and a 703s. spinning rod and potentially looking to round out my line up - perhaps a M power casting rod and a ML power spinning rod ...

The "standard" (not AGS) Tatula Elite rods (designed by MLF Pros) $179 at TW appear to be well made … Anybody use them or have tried them ?... I'd be curious to see how they stack up to comparable Dobyns rods in the mid grade Sierra line up (also $179) ?

Poppers , Walking Baits (except frogs) , Twitch Baits , etc. are you using straight mono / co-poly OR braid + leader for top water ?

^^This^^ You can't find a better spinning rod under $50 and ditto for the Daiwa Revros 200 / 2500 series as well … Such a great Ned set up in fact I may buy this combo myself (even though I already have a dedicated Ned set up !) … Buy this set up from TW and pair with Power Pro #8 lb. or #10 lb. braid main line , Maxima #6 lb. co poly for the leader and 1/16th oz. ZMan Finesse ShroomZ Ned jig heads (black , green Pumpkin colors and after the spawn - red color) . You can use other Ned Head jigs but stay with a small #2 or #1 size hook (too many makers offer hooks of 1/0 or larger which is too large a hook) . Next , use cheap mono for backing (WM Zebco brand in #8 lb. on your reel (50% mono backing then add the braid main line with a double uni and spool it tight - to finish be sure to set your drag light … A simple reel set technique will hook bass and keep them pined every time ! Finally , just get a few colors (Green Pumpkin , June Bug and Mud Minnow) of the Zman Finesse TRD and you will be set .

#1 Mega Strike Cavitron , #2 War Eagle with either a Zoom Horney Toad or a Yum Tip Toad . Trailer colors in white , black or green pumpkin ; buzz bait blades in chrome or black . *Shame on DSG for not carrying Mega Strike Cavitrons any more as that was my local source !!

*I use the Berkley Devil Spear - but never saw one in methiolate color before (lol !)

+1 on YZH co-pol line … In harsh , abrasive conditions I also like #12 lb. to #17 lb. P-Line CX-X co-poly line .

Get a couple of War Eagle Buzz Toads - one in white and one in black (3/8th oz.) Best all - around buzz toad is the Zoom Horney Toad and Yum has a nice one as well (both inexpensive) .

*Based on replies - it doesn't seem to matter what color braid you use for hollow body frog fishing … A Hi-Viz Yellow braid (Power Pro) will eventually fade anyway as most braids do (except Viscous).

A 1/16th oz. wacky jig head (VMC) and a Trick Worm can be deadly and worked faster than just a wacky hook . Cast it out and give it the occasional pop while sinking , then lift , shake and drop a few times after it hits the bottom.

*I found a pack of VMC #1 size Neko hooks in my tackle inventory and believe that is about a perfect size and hook for wacky rigging a 4" or 5" stick bait (senko) or even a Trick Worm . For a finesse worm I would maybe drop down to a VMC #2 size Neko hook .

The Tuff Line #50 is new and in great shape (bought it on sale at a steep discount) - I was just concerned about the Hi - Viz yellow line color for Frog'n ?

While most would use #50 lb. or #65 lb. PP braid in green for a Frog'n line - I found a new spool of #50 lb. Tuff Line 4 strand Hi - Viz yellow braid in my basement that I am considering as a Frog'n line , your thoughts ?

What is your current Frog'n braid line , size and color ? … Anyone use other than standard green color braid line for Frog'n ?

Dobyns Fury 7'9" Med Heavy Swimbait rod FR 795SB $129 at TW.

*I've had good luck with #4 size hooks in a Mushroom style Ned jig head .

Yamamoto Senko , SK Ocho , Yum Dingers and BPS Stik-O because I have these already .

I use the Sierra 734c. for light wire Football Jigs (3/8th oz. & 1/2 oz.) with #15 lb. AbrazX FC line and it works well - but you are right that for flipping jigs with heavier hooks (i.e. SK Hack Attack) you possibly will want a heavier rod . *Wildcard set up* : Try using the Sierra 734c. for 3/8th oz. & 1/2 oz. heavier hook flipping jigs with #40lb. braid mainline on a bait cast reel . The "no give" nature of braid combined with a little forgiveness of the Sierra 734c. is a GREAT set up ! By swapping bait cast reels between FC , braid or even mono main lines can add versatility to the Sierra 734c. rod .

*For a bait casting outfit - you have recommended THE best low cost solution !

*I'm relatively new to using Siebert Outdoors jigs but they are outstanding as is the service - Mike will go out of his way to make you happy !
