  1. For frog'n , pitch'n or flip'n - you can't go wrong with an 8:1 gear ratio bait cast reel of your choice !
  2. Great April round up Glenn !
  3. I considered thd Gambler but in a YouTube pool test the original Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Wirm had a better action . I’m not a bass , so perhaps the slower , less erratic Gambler tail action is attractive to bass ?
  4. The Zoom Ultravibe Speed Worm comes in the standard size and the magnum size : I’ve read where no matter the size bass being targeted that there seems to be a preference for the larger size magnum Ultravibe Speed worm (I believe due to action) … What size Zoom Ultravibe Speed Worm do you prefer and do you believe one size has better action than the other ?
  5. What about small mouth Tom ? Up in NorCal what temps are small mouth apt to begin the spawn ?
  6. Under Spins and Chatter Baits last longer than do spinnerbaits when catching bass as you eliminate the breaking point (which is the spinnerbait wire frame) .
  7. Depending on what part of the country you are located in - your April best bass lures may vary ... What are yours in the bass waters you fish for April ?
  8. Another outstanding article Glenn - sometimes we over think or make bass fishing harder than it really has to be !
  9. Thank you Glenn for another outstanding lure technique video ! Most folks familiar with spinner baits know the Oklahoma Bass Pro's starting with Jimmy Houston , Jason Christie , Edwin Evers , etc. are masters of the spinner bait for good reason - pay attention to what they have to share and you will be rewarded !
  10. Looking to pick up a couple of Zebco 33's for children - will need to find a rod in that 6' to 6'6" MF range for your typical beetle spins , horse head under spins , etc. Perhaps Zebco will have some decent matching rods to offer as well ?
  11. Another quality , seasonal “how to” technique video from noted bass pros - thanks Glenn !
  12. One size larger than a regular EWG hook : If you use a Gamakatsu 3/0 EWG then you would use a Owner Twistlock 4/0.
  13. I use Dobyns Sierra 702 and 793 SF rods with braid plus FC leader . The Sierra’s have a little slower tip which works well with my set up and jerky - fast hookset .
  14. For winter I tend to use the smallest 2.8” Keitech Fat Swing Impact , as the water begins to inch upwards a few degrees I’ll go up to the 3.3” size and when pre-spawn hits I’ll continue up to the 3.8” size . I don’t anticipate the forage to be much larger during prespawn but this year I may bump up to the 4.3” size to target the bigger bass as the prespwan gets well underway in early Spring . What is your strategy in selecting soft plastic swim bait sizes from Winter into the prespawn and finally into Spring and into post spawn ?
  15. I’ve wondered what makes a good spinnerbait rod ? I like a co-poly line like YZH #12 lb. to #15 lb. or Big Game in the same sizes and tend to set the hook pretty quick as well . I use a Dobyns Sierra MH 7’3” which has a slower tip - combined with line stretch and my hook set helps the cause when using a spinner bait .
  16. The Cavitron would be on my short list - blade & skirt colors ?
  17. What is your favorite downsized 1/4 oz. buzz bait ? There are a number of times when a smaller buzz bait will work better than a full sized one .
  18. Having trouble locating my Mini-Max chatterbaits - if you have one can you please measure the blade dimensions and post in mm ?
  19. So , how long have you been divorced ? 🤣🤣
  20. I need to branch out to Blue Gill and Golden Shiner color spinner baits … I have enough white and white / chartreuse spinner baits to last several life times !
  21. Thanks for replies to date - sides of docks and way back underneath docks may require some different approaches (i.e. baits that skip well) .
  22. What are your favorite bass lures for fishing docks ? Off the top of my head I think of pitching arky jigs or casting swim jigs reeled parallel to docks . For soft plastics I think of pitching stick worms (either T- rigged or wacky) . Spinner baits and chatter baits may work (although not my first choice I think of) and lastly for top water I would think poppers worked around dock points may produce … What dock fishing techniques have worked best for you ?
  23. Try to buy the H2O hooks in person and look at the package carefully - I bought some straight shank H2O hooks which were broken in half in the package - never saw that before .
  24. BPS hooks on sale .
  25. Your Title states "Spinnerbait" while your content asks about "swim baits" ?
