Your Fishing Days Per Year
Me getting 50 days a year would be phenomenal! As it stands now with a crazy project at work, a nearly three year old and twin 6 month old babies, free time is, shall we say, "rare". I'll be lucky to get 20 days this year.

It makes me throw up a little in my mouth each time I say it, but GO NOLES! This made me laugh: http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2013/12/20/5230178/music-city-bowl-2013-ole-miss-georgia-tech Oh no, cut blocking! No one else in football cut blocks, so it sure is "scary" preparing to defend the option.

The Best Steak I Ever Had
ATL has some REALLY good steakhouses, and I've certainly sampled their work:) When I'm cooking a good steak at home, it's done indoors with a cast-iron skillet and my broiler. ~2 min each side in the skillet to sear it, then put the skillet and all in the broiler for another ~6 min to finish the job. Grilling can no doubt produce great results, but I feel I have better control with the skillet. I'd love to add a Big Green Egg to the arsenal, but I have many other things I can spend that $1000+ on first.

Did line get in the prop?

Show Off Your Jon Boat!
Down here, it's seems there's an arms race for jonboats. I don't fish the tourneys, but I see guys with TWO electric outboards (which require 12 batteries) 10 inch screen depthfinders, etc. Quite a few of them have enough $$$ in them to have a full bass boat. Mine was probably closer to that threshold that I'd like to think about, but the smaller, electric-only lakes are much easier for me to access around here than the big water. If you want to see some great work, look up "bassboy1" and "Fish On Fabrications" on tinboats. That's the guy that did my boat, and he's done quite a few more intricate builds than mine.

Show Off Your Jon Boat!
It's depressing putting jonboats up for resale in my neck of the woods

Backing - Does It Matter What Line?
I use cheap line mono, but not crappy mono for backing. I picked up a spool of 900 yards of 12 lb Big Game for ~$8 so I'll get a lot of backing out of that spool. And if I find myself in a situation where I'm close to or in the backing, I still have confidence that the backing won't fail.

So I Have Been Naughty This Christmas..
Get the Champion model for bottom contact, and get the Coalition for moving baits

Best Lipless Crankbait Rod
I use an STX 6:1, so 26-28

Bps Extreme Rod Vs Competition
Yes, it's a good rod but I agree with the comments above about it being heavy in weight. I'd also mention that a H power Extreme is a pretty beefy rod, so keep that in mind. Also, there's no reason to pay full price for that rod since they're very often on sale.

$250 Towards A Spinning Combo
For a rod, I'd look into St Croix Avids or Kistler KLXs. For the reel, Shimano has quite a few <$100 spinning reels, so choose based on your remaining funds. If possible, I think the Symetre would be a great selection.

Proposing Next Weekend
First off, congrats Maybe it's just me, but I'd be REALLY careful with an expensive ring, on a boat, in the cold. Surprised girl + nervous guy + cold + lots of water . Just be careful with that rock!

Glx 852 Vs. Dx702
I've heard what Brad said about the DX 702s multiple times. If you want a Dobyns, look at the DX 703s. I use it for shakey heads, split shot rigs, etc and it works great.

Heading Back To The Promise Land
I understand auditions are held "American Idol" style, so I'm working on a terrific rendition of Right Said Fred's classic "I'm Too Sexy". My acceptance into the club is all but assured.

New Rod Or A New Reel
I dunno, man. Granted I'm not a tournament fisherman, but something seems REALLY strange here. I've never heard of a tournament trail that dictates the type of equipment used in this manner. And I don't even know how the heck they'd be able to enforce such a rule.

New Rod Or A New Reel
Wait, huh? The tourney trail you fish dictates that you cannot pleasure fish with the same equipment you use in the tourney???

F4 Is In The House!
Yeah, I'm not a big fan or tornadoes and luckily have never been too close. I did experience a 500-year flood first hand at my old house, and unfortunately most of those houses who flooded were not in flood plains, and therefore were not covered by insurance. Terribly sad. Glad you guys were safe.

New Rod Or A New Reel
I was wondering the same thing.

Fishing In High Winds
Anchor up, use a little more weight in your lure to get it down and keep your rod tip as close to the water as you can so there's less opportunity for wind to put slack in your line.
