Had My Heart Broken By Pps8S Today
Maybe I'm in the minority here but I'm not sure changing lines will help. Most braids should stand up to some abrasion when it's only the resistance of your lure on the end of the line. When you add a hard-fighting fish to the equation, that totally changes things. You tugging hard on one end and a fish tugging hard on the other is gonna mean that braid (or any line for that matter) is gonna rake across that rock pretty hard. You said the spot had rock, wood and grass. If you were using mono or fluoro and the fish dug into the grass, you're probably not getting him out of there either. Pick your poison. Make no mistake - it sucks, but you can't win them all

My First Jig Set...help Me Build It
I recommend to start simple. For pitching jigs, choose black/blue and either a green or a brown. 1/4 and 3/8 serve 95% of my purpose but a few 1/2 can't hurt. I find the alien heads are pretty versatile here. Same colors for football heads. 1/2 and 3/4 should get you through most scenarios and depths. I treat swig jigs abut differently and use colors similar to my spinnerbaits. Shad and bluegill patterns are all I use. 1/4 and 3/8 are all I need. Increase weight if you think you'll be fishing deeper than 10 ft or so If you're referring to shaky heads, just get the plain jig heads is 1/8, 3/16 and 1/4 and use your soft plastic collection to arm them.

Sec Sec Sec Sec Sec Sec Sec Sec Sec Sec
I grew up in NJ and Rutgers was a train wreck for many years. I won't go so far as to say that I'm a Rutgers fan but it is nice to see them finally making a bit of noise nationally. Just makes it better to be at the expense of the SEC As a GT fan, I also know very well that feeling of giving away games

Any Fsu Football Fans Out There?
GT was forced to abandon our 2009 ACC Championship for no other reason than not following a ridiculous request of the NCAA investigator (who was a former UNC football player, by the way). Yeah, I'm still bitter. On one hand, I agree with sbfishySC's comment about Swofford. There's been the long-perceived "Tobacco Road bias", and my alma mater is a long way off Tobacco Road. Then again he didn't sit idly by during all the conference reorganization stuff. The additions made, the decision to increase the buyout to $50M and the work done to make sports broadcasting rights the property of the conference (as opposed to each individual program) looks to have ensured the ACC's existence for at least the next few decades.

Oh good. For a minute, I was concerned that you wouldn't have completed the pre-fishing in preparation for March

Best Pliers Under $100
Are the Gander pliers well-constructed? They look to be similar in concept to the Browning/BPS pliers I have, but the problem I see with the Browning is that they're not manufactured very well, as the tolerances appear rather poor. The jaws and the cutters get to a point where they're no longer pinching totally closed, so obviously this makes cutting lines an issue.

I've gone through too many pairs of cheap pliers, but also not ready to fork over the coin for the Van Staals

Best Pliers Under $100
Anyone have a recommendation for a good set of pliers under $100? i have a pair of the Browning pliers from Bass Pro but I am less impressed each time I use them. Looking for pliers that come with a sheath and lanyard, can cut braid and are saltwater approved.

Really Ncaa?!?!
So lemme get this straight...the players want to complain that football is not being forthcoming on things like concussions, but now those same players complain when calls designed to protect the players are made? I don't think they can have it both ways. I didnt see the Bama play, but Matthews wasn't even close in the above clip.

Hello From Bama, Gonna Need Yalls Info..
I fish out of an electric only rig built on a G3 1652 and I can recommend 2 sources: Tinboats.net Fishonfabrications.com (this is the guy who built my boat. He's also "bassboy1" on tinboats) I have an 80 upfront and two 80s in the back. You're right in that a there will be a point of diminishing returns regarding jonboat speed since you won't get on plane. My current boat configuration gets more speed from the 2nd motor, but certainly not double the speed from only 1 motor. To me, I like two since I get more speed, longer time on the water (since I can run both my rear motors at less than 100% to get max speed), as well as giving piece of mind that I can still get back to the ramp if one of my motors has trouble. Try together at least some of the batteries toward the front of the boat for better speed

Time To Stir The Pot!
And that, Catt, is why nothing will happen. The NCAA can't risk high $$$ programs being punished. How else could we explain why no punishments were handed out for UNC? Let me post this question...if the statue of limitations is up (and I have no idea how that works in the NCAA) but there is strong evidence that Miles was both aware and participated in such activity, do you still want him coaching your team? Would you believe what that man tells you when he's in your living room to recruit your son?

We shall see... Then again we knew this wouldn't go anywhere anyway for a variety of reasons.

Any Other Reels Like This?
Generally speaking, China isn't shy about copying other companies' stuff so it would be no great shock to hear this is taking place in the fishing industry.

Time To Stir The Pot!
All I'm saying is that the ACC and the SEC both have the same number of representatives in this All Star game (counting Louisville and Syracuse) for the ACC Is the SEC really better? http://extramustard.si.com/2013/09/13/key-peele-east-west-bowl-video-exclusive/

Not to mention the "issues" recently raised at OK State at the time when Les Miles was at the helm.

Any Fsu Football Fans Out There?
SMU got the death penalty. USC got hammered. Don't get me started on UNC -- that's exhbit 1A on why the NCAA is such a joke. As much as it pains me to say it, I think Miami deserves to get off with no further penalties for the absolute bungling of that case by the NCAA. Define "nothing wrong". if the allegations are true about what happened at Ok St, are you saying poor Les had no idea, and was just victim of rogue boosters, academic advisors, drug dealers and coeds who were especially passionate fans of the program?

Any Fsu Football Fans Out There?
It's been an interesting few days in college football despite no games played since Sat... Seems our Bama, Miss St (if anyone will fess up ), Tenn, OK State and LSU friends might have some reason to worry if there's anything to these reports coming out. I'd sure hate to see Bama forfeit a championship for using an ineligible player! But we all know how this will end, and Johnny Football's suspension gives USA glimpse into the future. Each school will "look into the allegations" and find nothing. The NCAA will "investigate" and find nothing. Meanwhile, the Ga Techs of the world will continue to get punished for such egregious violations, such as a player NOT taking a gift from an agent.

Bought A New Rod And Have A Question
Money spent on R&D can't tell St Croix how a rod would feel in my hands. You last line nails it.
