  1. I know the Shimanos do, Okuma are hit or miss when it comes to L/H, I dont think the Cedros does, the rest I believe do come L/H..... On a side not I was just lookin at Daiwas website and they have a new Aird Saltwater version, with 2 L/H models http://www.daiwa.com/reel/detail.aspx?id=739
  2. Yea Im counting down the days till I order it. Such a nice reel, thanks for the added review.
  3. Would the rod be stout enough for topwaters and jerks? I was mainly thinkin it would be a weightless plastic setup, but if thats all it is Ill stick with my spinning gear for that. I didnt know if the rod could be used for finesse jigs or anything of the likeness... Im not much in the way of fishing for panfish, more of a by catch of the occasional crappie. Thanks for the suggestion though.
  4. I have a chance to buy a 6' Legend Elite Medium power, fast action, casting rod for a good price. What would you guys use this rod for? I dont wanna buy a rod just because its a good price and not use it.
  5. Check out the Komodo 350 too, It'll be added to my arsenal come spring.
  6. Ton of options out there bud, Abu, Daiwa, Okuma, Quantum, Ardent, Shimano etc. all make inshore casting reels left handed and in 200,300 and 400 sizes. Personally a Daiwa lexa 300 might be the ticket, Can be had for a decent price and my buddy has put his through the ringer this year with striped bass and big blues and its held up great.
  7. If you shop around bud you can get some good prices, I've never paid msrp or anything close for em. They are def worth the money tho, IMO one of the best jerk baits outs there.
  8. Thanks for the input guys, I'll reserve my money for their pointers then. It's a shame its def a beautiful bait.
  9. Dang, wish they had a shallower diving model, looks like a sweet bait.
  10. Thanks for the input Tom. I was shocked that the LC pointers 78 run almost as much as their swimbaits, figured they would be of some quality being made by LC.
  11. Does anyone have any input on this bait? The price is really cheap especially for a LC product, Im tempted to try one out for the price but would like to see if anyone has used em. Thanks in advance
  12. On a lipless crank to boot, must have been painfully slow retrieves!
  13. Ya never know C&G, I believe the world record came outta GA?
  14. I agree I dont like the LMB record but it is what it is. But the water the pickerel was pulled from is public and I fish it quite often. If you know where the old record came from coincidentally thats where the new one is from also...
  15. I guess they do? I know Ive caught plenty of citation size pickerel (24"+) and maybe 4lbs outta that pond but my biggest, 6lb 4oz came from the Pocomoke river, just 4oz shy of the state record for the Chesapeake. I never thought the next state record would come from a pond again, I do know there are some big bass in there though, Ive seen verified 9+lbs come from it. Like I said ya just never know whats under the water waiting to take your bait.
  16. MD has a new state record and potential world record Tautog, interesting but the best part of the article (for me at least) a new state record chain pickerel was pulled from one of the ponds by my house, article has it at 8lbs beating out the 1976 record of 7lbs 6oz. Just goes to show that record fish could easily be in one of your home waters you fish. I could only imagine the fight that thing put up. http://news.maryland.gov/dnr/2015/01/07/anglers-open-the-new-year-with-two-state-fishing-records/
  17. I have a couple, not worth the time/money in my opinion, Ive had better success with other cranks. Not impressed at all...
  18. As in the rounded bill? All the scatter rap versions have em, suppose to give move of a 'evasive' action. Ive used the shallow cranks with great success this year, although some people haven't had much luck with em. I have a couple and my best colors are the baby bass and the smash. I do a steady retrieve with a few quick turns of the reel handle every few feet...
  19. Baby bass-Scatter Rap Crank
  20. I know its another Rapala but Ive had good success with the scatter rap cranks in baby bass...
  21. Yea I hear ya, likewise a Steelers fan. Its the lesser of two evils though, Id hate to see the Pats in it again so I guess Ill root for the dirty birds lol.... It def sucks tho being a Steeler fan in the middle of ravens country. Took it hard on the chin after that loss for sure.
  22. The problem is now- Who to root for the next game....I wish both teams could lose lol
  23. Yea they are a lil on the bigger side. I haven't personally used either reel you mentioned although from the specs the Winch, for its weight and drag settings, looks to be the ticket for sure.
