Revo Winch Gen 3 Or Lews Bb1 Pro (Or Wide Spool)
I would honestly check out the Okuma Komodo 300 or the Lexa 300, either one will have more than enough drag and line capacity. Ive personally used the Lexa and its a great reel although come spring I will be purchasing the Komodo for stripers down here. Just my .02

Suspending Jerkbait - Bank Fishing ?
Ive had great success fishing them from the bank, I have found though depending on depth you might want to stick with a floating line vs flouro to keep the bait at its shallower depth range to keep it off the bottom. Also try to learn to twitch it with a upwards rod movement instead of a side or a downwards twitch. Smithwicks are a great bait btw, I have 6 of em in foxy momma and they produce all year long for me.

Jig Fishing
In my experience, which is limited, you gotta figure out what type of area(depth, bottom composition, vegatation etc.) your gonna be fishing and that's gonna define your jig head choice. From there color, most popular choices, including myself, are black n blue variations and green/pumpkin variations. Now trailers are going to be a personal choice, brands along with opinions vary greatly, I would say whichever you go with match the color jig, not a standard but a good starting point. I personally use Netbait paca craws, blue and green variations, normally with their claws dipped in some kinda scent. Jigs are IMO the most versatile lure out there and can be fished in a variety of situations, styles and across the seasons, I normally pitch them into cover or structure and it would be a safe bet 95% of my bites come on the fall. If your having trouble deciding which ones to get started with, Mike over at Seibert outdoors (link on r/h side of this page) can help you get started. I pm'ed him about my location and what type of area Ill be fishing and he directed me to the correct jig style best suited for my fishing. I placed my first order with him shortly after that and within a few weeks I was catching bass left and right on his jigs. Now once again IMO for the money they are the best jigs out there. Jigs are tough to learn and it may take awhile to get decent at but once you get the hang of it youll always have one tied on.

Trolling For Rocks...
Thanks guys, Im lucky to have a variety of fishing available to break up the winter blues. Yea its almost odd the fish know where the 3 mile line is!! lol Even if they opened it up another few miles would be nice. We didnt do to well inshore this year due to the way the water temps bottomed out but I was lucky enough to catch a boat ride... Hopefully this upcoming year Ill make it out with the same guys tuna fishing the canyons.

Spro Bronzeye Shad Review
PM sent Heron... And for anyone else(if you have the same issue), the Shads are not suppose to take on water, contact Spro and they'll get you squared away. Great company to deal with. When the bait works right its action it killer.

Trolling For Rocks...
Yea it was a rough day, Saturday was calm and the bait balls were staying grouped up, I think the nasty weather broke em up good. We only mark very small schools. I doubt we'll get out anymore, it was kind of last minute trip, the Atlantic portion is open year round though out to the 3 mile EEZ , minimum size is 28" out there and its hit or miss if they are around. Feast or famine....

Trolling For Rocks...
Rockfish that is, went trolling tandems off Ocean City, MD yesterday. Probably should have check the weather because we were battling 4-6ft swells all day but we managed 2-40" fish with 4 other pull downs that were missed due to the rough water. My biggest striper to date!!

Rod, And Reel Set Up For Jigs
The vendetta runs more MH than a M...The MH runs H comparably... Bad power ratings by ABU. My dedicated jig rod I run a 7' vendetta with 20# braid on a Citica201E never having any problems.

Do You Have The Career You Wanted As A Kid/teenager?
Same goes for me, wanted to be a forensic scientist (even before all those shows came out) ended up as an apprentice plumber a few years outta high school, company went under and a week later I was in aviation school, got my A&P mechanic license and now work as a supervisor in the maintenance planning department for a regional airline. I always loved being a home mechanic but had no interest in working on vehicles of any kind for a living, never thought about aircraft until I heard about one of my buddies attending the school.

Daiwa Db Suspending Minnow
I should also add, My most used JB is the LC pointer 78sp, if ya look around they can be had for only a couple bucks more. Ill switch it up in the winter a lil bit when it comes to brands, rogue, spro etc. but on days with a tough bite is on the LC always produces.

Daiwa Db Suspending Minnow
I have 1/2 dozen of the Baker lures, its a versatile bait with some good natural colors. It suspends well with good action, you can also crank it along (nice hunting action) and have it suspend, instead of twitching it along like a traditional jerkbait.

Swimbaits and gear to throw em on....So far a Okuma guide select swimbait rod thanks to the flea market, a Cardiff 301A, Savage gear line through trout, River2Sea s waver and 2 Hudd 68's.....gonna be a long road traveled. Still stocking up on LC pointers for upcoming months, the pickerel got extra hungry last winter.... And thats only freshwater....Looking to pick up a Okuma Komodo 350 in the next couple of days to pair with my bridge rod since my cardiff went to my swimbait rod.

20 Bones
I believe there was a second generation made of the vendettas, kinda like the veritos 2.0... Not much difference other than the reel seat and nut that I can tell... Edit** Yes there is a second generation and yes there are 2 piece rods available along with 1 piece, check out the Abu website, they have all the specs on there...
