  1. Get it right...It was a USO!! Honestly tho my first thought as soon as I heard about the stolen passports was the plane was hijacked and taken somewhere... although if it did happen Im wondering why military radar didnt pick it up flying where it shouldnt have been.
  2. Lol I feel inadequate.... I take 4, thats all I own! That a canoe only has so much room...
  3. First one this year from a few weeks ago. No ice this year but the cold weather has been hit or miss so fishing has been tough...
  4. Jigs and spinner baits.... I dunno what it is but day in and day out my buddy and I will throw the same jig to the same area and while he comes up with a fish, Im switching over to one of my confidence baits...
  5. Where the pawl was held in actually cracked and disengaged the pawl from the levelwind....He didnt realize until his last cast all the line from that cast ended up on the r/h side of the reel.
  6. Yep^^^ My buddies Lews mg is out to Lews right now for the same problem, he only used it maybe 2 trips. They stated that there was an issue with the levelwinds. Also keep an eye on the grip knobs, they also had an issue with the rubber coating coming off. I will say that they do have great customer service and are claiming a 3 day turn around for my buddies reel.
  7. See for me, I dont shut my brain off to my everyday problems when Im out on the water. I think them over them trying to figure out solutions. Just about the time I have a great fix to a problem I get that tug on the line..... then at that point I forget alllllll about it. After I release the fish and I relive and think over that catch, I continue my thought process all over....By the end of the day Ive done forgot about anything that was bugging me before hand. Now only if I could stop catching fish so i could actually figure out solutions to the problems Im having, haha Seriously though, I completely shut my brain down and just take in every aspect of that day, fish or no fish I just love being out there....
  8. Since we dont know the gender of our first kid yet we are going with "lil sprout" for now....
  9. All Ive ever run on my T3B has been braid, even relatively light stuff and I have no problem casting or with backlashes....Unless I forget to adjust the cowbell when I retie a heavier lure, goes like this.........cast,zing,poof, dangit!
  10. Waaaaaaait...dangit...Well I gotta vote now, just threw my 100th post down on that last one.... thanks Raider.............................................
  11. Ill vote for that!! BTW Im a good shot.....Secret service position open? Ill only ask for the nice days off to fish and hunt...
  12. Well once again I appreciate all the advice fellas....Worried myself a lil to much as I negotiated the pay to where its a lateral move!! So same pay with all the added benefits of more fam time!! Excited beyond belief!
  13. 61 degrees here today, by tomorrow night down to 6 degrees with 4-8" of the white stuff...Ugh
  14. I run 20lb fireline on my t3 ballistic and have never had an issue unless Ive been snagged up and then the line digs into itself from freeing the snag. If it was me I would respool with some cheap mono and see if its the line or the reel thats the culprit, although if you were running copoly and never had a problem I would assume its the line since thats the only thing that you changed....My .02
  15. Gander Vortex Spin Rod-15$ On Sale Okuma Avenger 35 reel-19$ On Sale Caught my PB on this setup lol...
  16. Hmmm thats pretty interesting... What about the "Good night Irene" Ive seen used to close out a topic?
  17. Most people have nailed it here, but honestly anything and everything I have thrown for bass Ive caught pickerel on. I dont target them specifically due to the 100% fact that I will catch them no matter what when Im fishing for bass. When I go bass fishing Im also going pickerel fishing, not complaining tho, love catching em. This winter the jerkbaits have been the best producer followed by jigs, I even had a day in early January when I was killin em with the super spook topwaters...
  18. This weekend its been the wife's Bday present, actually remembered! Tackle bag, some trout lures and new tires for the cars...
  19. Good luck also on your future schooling/career. My wife is a teacher and absolutely loves it.
  20. Wow... I really appreciate the input guys. I essentially know what choice Im going to make, just nice to see that the majority would do the same. Like flyfisher said, on paper it seems easy, not so much in reality. With alot of changes happening in the next couple months its hard to prioritize and get everything straight so a lil reassurance goes along way in big decision making. With all walks of life here on the forum its a good way to get opinions from different perspectives. Once again thanks fellas and tight lines!
  21. Alright fellas, I wanna hear your opinions on this matter.... Right now my position at work(salary)consist of 4-12hr days with 4 days off and about 2 months total outta the year I work overnight, same days and hours but overnight. In September my wife and I are expecting our first child and I have a opportunity to take another position with 4 on 4 off but with less hours, 10hr days on the weekdays and 8hrs on weekends, and no nights ever. Only downside is its a lil less pay. Now I know raising a kid is no cheap matter but on the same hand money isint everything and I would love to be there more for the baby and my wife. The new salary would still be sufficient enough to make a decent living but it would still be a cut. What yinz think? Always seem to be some good wisdom around here....
  22. Went from 42 last night to 70 today...annnnnnnd Im at work....
  23. Gets me everyyyyyy time....Oh Ill just grab a few bags of soft plastics....A new reel later and I def forgot to get the plastics.
  24. You are far from the only one..... I just got back into Bassin last spring and started with a Ugly Stick GX combo and a few inline spinners, I now have a dedicated room that's wall to wall with fishing rods/reels, tackle boxes and more tackle/lures than I could ever throw . Not to mention the garage that stores the canoe and everything that goes along with it. That's all within a years time, its definitely a slippery slope my friend!! To answer your question though, No, def no remedy I know of, your hooked for life ........ BTW I just bought a few more jerkbaits today LOL (Baitmonkey thanks us all)
  25. Watermelon, and red shad colors are all I use...
