705CBMF glass... This is my GO TO squarebill rod and just used it 2 weeks ago to win us a 2014 Nitro Z8 in texas.. I had the rod in my hand for 15 of the 16 hours on the water throwing a Kustom RC 1.5 and it handled it well! Its one of my most used rods.. Plenty of power, but the glass adds that softness so it wont pull hooks when fish murder the bait..

Wash and WAX rods and reels with eagle one nano wax.. Great stuff! Back drags off on reels.. Clean all reels Run a cotton swab around rod guides to make sure no cracks or chips in guides

Stx.. I just worked on a couple SX reels and they seem to have issues with the pinion gear sticking..not engaging with the spool.. Stx is a nicer reel overall

You might gain slight drag power switching to carbontex since they are slightly thicker drags.. Every reel I own has carbontex and I've been VERY pleased with the swap.. You can either run them dry or with cals drag grease..

spro is notorious for filling up with water... The old Tru tungsten 2nd gen frogs are my favorite as they have the Drain in them so if they ever fill up it goes right out the ass of the bait when walking them so they wont sink.. Strike king ones are nice as well..

Seaguar Abrazx is very good line for the money.. Seaguar Tatsu is their Preimier line but is a bit $$$, BUT lasts a long time and is crazy strong..

Been using Dobyns for 8 years now and they have been GREAT rods.. Solid, very balanced, sensitive and they have the best customer service Ive ever delt with..

Yea you def. don't want to throw a light bait with a broom stick! You need a rod that loads with light baits.. My UL combo is that pixy and Dobyns DX701c and it loads great but still has just enough backbone to not get overpowered..

1/32nd if needed...most of the time 1/8th or less on my Pixy SPR when I trout fish.. Right now its got a 1/4oz and casts a mile for whites and hybrids.. Its also spooled up with 4lb line..

All Daiwas...I work on a TON of shimanos, but every reel I own is a JDM daiwa..

These are the reels that just sit and are Jelous not being in boat..

man if soda was spilled I would just break the reel down just to be safe! Better safe then sorry later down the road..

Boca orange seal 7s are by far the number 1 selling bearing they have.. Ive got some of their 100$ abec 9s and there is hardly a difference between those and the orange seal 7s...

I replace if new in box or a 2003 daiwa pixy as I'd rather have a great spool bearing that will increase casting distance and ease of casting.. I've replaced a ton of worn bearings with new Bocas in them as they either got really dirty and the owner neglected to clean thus making them rough and or really slow..even after flushing the damage was done so they needed to be replaced.. I'm just a reel nut and want the best performance I can get out of my reels when I first get them.. Flushing stock bearings does improve them as most factory reels over oil the bearings.

They are OK bearings.. Louder than most bearings out there for spool bearings.. I get their handle bearings and they have been solid over the years.. Boca makes the best bearing for the money..

CW is NOT the same blank as the savvy OR the Champions.. CW is a step up in blank from savvy and just below the Champs.. Gary had to use a different blank to hold the Camo pattern to it..

Def. an Omega Jig guy here.. They arnt using the Rubber bands to hold their skirts on, SOLID sharp hooks, great head design for coming through cover and skipping docks..

Yea now the Boca orange seals with the metal seals your good either way.. Ive seen everything from all manufacturers where they pack with WAY too much oil and grease and some reels on the shelf are dry as a bone..Either way IMO every reel that is purchased should be broken down and flushed just to make sure.. I also prefer swaping bearings out with the Bocas as Id reather have a cermaic hybrid then a SS bearing for my spool bearings..

I use a Savvy 735 for frogging and its been working great...The Coalition rod is pretty close to the Champs in terms of sensitivity, but not quiet there..You really cant go wrong with either rod..Its hard to pass up the deal on the CW with Dobyns Running that promo..
